Yeah, GOG was sending today an email with this info. I think I'll give the Sacred a go. :)

I would choose a JA but 9.99 is a lil bit expensive imo.
Thats the thing isnt it? They are good games and $10 isnt much money but its still old as heck. Very few new titels seem to come in at $6 which gives me a slightly uncomfortable feeling. Interplay, although more or less defunct, should be able to sell their games at $10 easily since most of the are absolute classics. Other games, OK but no classics, ought to be at $6.
Rant off. :)

Sacred is criminally addictive. It lacks what I like to term "The Blizzard Glow" but is probably a bit deeper than any other ClickPG out there (and if someone brings up Titan Quest I'll go throw up right now, TQ had a very interesting character development system, but beyond that there was little depth to it at all.)
Sacred is a mixed bag of a whole lot of fun and a whole lot of nothing.
If you manage to get a campaign based multi player game running though, it's an utter blast. PvP/vE multi player is the usual go, still quite good. Single player is surprisingly passable, but feels very empty.
Still, if you have yet to get it, and like these types of games: do so!
Aww, I tought you might have ment JA 2 (the original) or even gold :( would probably pay 9.99 for the JA 2 Gold at least.

I have to be honest and say I would pay for 9.99 JA2 gold to work right on vista. ( the gold version I have just now has isues that I have never found a cure for dispite trying every patch including the fan made 1.13 patch)
But 9.99 for the first is a shade too expensive for my taste. Although it would be interesting to see if "mike" really was as kick arse as he was supposed to be.
If you have played JA2 you know about Mike..and he is a selectable character in the first one..hes fantastic apparently ,all be it INCREDIBELY expensive to hire.
Yeah I remember Mike. All my characters within range of him when he appeared suddenly freaked out :)
Tough guy to kill off as well, I had to knock him out near a building, then blow up (several times) the buildings walls (and him) to win as guns did little to damage him.
Good Times.
JA2 was hard! And I loved it for that. How does game #1 compare?

Ois: JA2 was hard! And I loved it for that. How does game #1 compare?

The main gripe is, JA1 is entirely, and I mean entirely, turn-based, which can be annoying at times. Otherwise it is still pretty nice.
ARGH.
I just bought Sacred in late August from Steam. Now I feel like... I dunno. I mean, GoGs installers and "spiritual" lifetime guarantee are pretty sexy.
Oh well. It's not like I wasn't even gonna crack my Steam version should Valve ever disappear. I like the good clean feeling GoG gives me, though.
PS - Sacred was damn good fun.

Sacred looks to be really fun, think I am going to pick it up once it comes out here.

Prices are a lot subjective.
Here in Italy and also in Spain the boxed edition of Sacred (bundled with Underworld, which was already released as a free bonus for the owner of the original game) is at 9,95€ with a map of Ancaria, manual, tips for the game.
The original game was also re-released in a special budget edition some years ago with a magazine.
But Gog is gog :P but since I don't like Sacred, I'll not buy it. :)
Maybe I'll buy JA. It seems interesting.
