wpegg: I did say I'd put something on my website that would help mitigate this. It's in very raw form, but will become more slick. I really could do with a few people trying it out and leaving a comment in the forum.
A few days ago I would have considered the notion of an "GOGescrow" service to be a little extreme, but since we're now dealing with people making fake accounts impersonating others, I'd say we need that solution of yours sooner rather than later.

klaattu: I can assure you he's a good trader, I made a trade with him a month ago without a problem.
If he is legit (and it seems like he is from you and Whitewraith's posts), then I apologize to rpgamer381 and admit my own wrongdoing.

That being said, I don't want to excuse people pointing fingers and making accusations the way I did, but it does look more than a little suspicious to see someone with 1 rep posting an enthusiastic message to a thread about people who've been impersonated by scammers.

I just want to let you know that rpgamer381 is not a scammer. I, as well as others in this forum, have traded with him in the past. He is a very nice person who even went as far as to gift me a game I had listed in my "want" classifieds out of nowhere. I will also sent you a pm about him, but decided to post as well, so you can see that it really is me.

I've been impersonated!!!!

Watch out for a user:

retro_gamer.

He has the same avatar as me and almost identical username to mine. The only exception is that he has a DOT at the end of his nick.

Not a single one I think. He is scumming other users pretending to be me.

A GOG user wrote me a message thinking I was the scummer and we found out that the scummer is impersonating me.
