pkt-zer0: Yes, all I'm saying is that what the Witcher manages to bring out of the Aurora engine is still pretty decent performance compared to NWN2, for instance.

Mentalepsy: NWN2 actually uses Electron. Aurora was used in the first Neverwinter Nights. Electron might be based on Aurora, though, I don't know.

From wikipedia:
NWN2 uses a significantly rewritten and updated version of NWN's cross-platform Aurora engine, now called the "Electron engine".

Cool. I know The Witcher replaced the rendering aspects of Aurora, at least. You can see Aurora's fingerprints here and there in The Witcher, but it's largely unrecognizable.

Yup, they moved fully from OpenGL to DirectX. Not something I'm particularly happy with (cross-compatibility with Linux or Mac anyone?) but there you have it :)

I can't really comment on NWN2 performance vs. The Witcher performance. I stopped playing NWN2 before I bought the PC I have now, and I never went back to it. I only got to chapter 2.

I'm not surprized that The Witcher (EE) doesn't have that many votes, I'm sure that many people here already own that game and therefore not need to vote for it.
Hold on, not to be too presumptuous.
How many people here own The Witcher?
I do.

Does my vote count as two if I have both versions? :)
Why not.
Thats 4 then.

Don't own it yet...but I'm hoping it's one of the wrapped items under the tree.
I own bo(l)th. Retail purchased from Wal-Mart I think... eight months ago, The EE from Steam when I bought my new PC.
I bought it off atari website when it was first released. Great game
I bought Collectors Edition in a midnight sale on Xzone (that site was completely overloaded that night). And I also have EE from Steam.

After getting burned by Digital River over my 911: First Responders purchase (still don't have access to it for over four months) I don't trust Atari's site.
I believe The Witcher has sold over 2 million units, so it's fair to say a lot of people know about/own it! :)
