Pheace: It's GOG's move it seems

Alan Wake Nightmare preorder:

Steam - $15 (-10%) = $13.49, -15% more if you already own Alan Wake
GOG - $19.99 (-10%) = $17.99, -15% if you already own Alan Wake

Let's see how well competition works ^^
Either GOG already took their move or you just got the prices wrong. :P

Corrected version:
Steam - $15 (-10%) = $13.49, -15% more if you already own Alan Wake ($11.25)
GOG - $14.99 (-10%) = $13.49, -15% if you already own Alan Wake ($11.25)

Pheace: GOG seems to have pricematched Steam since i wrote that so it certainly is :)
Oh whoops, you already knew. Wasn't paying attention, sorry!
Pretty sure that since GOG is copying Steam on the whole "having new games" thing, this would be GOG "attacking" Steam, not the other way around.

Only sort of, a market leader using their current position to attack a new entrant in their market isn't exactly new. GOG and Steam are increasingly in direct competition, since Steam is taking it lying down from Amazon.com it looks like they'd like to pick on someone they think they might have a chance against. The good thing is, regardless of all that, GOG has a strong, core business to fall back on.
Alan Wake is on sale on several sites right now and as for the daily deal, I don't think it's really a coincidence, but at some point the games on the daily must coincide with games GOG is selling.
