I was doing research on XCOM series, XCOM clones, and games that prelude XCOM. Well, I learned that XCOM was preluded by Laser Squad which was preluded by Rebelstar series. So since I'm now interested, I want to know if Rebelstar series is too old to get GOG release?

GOG is PC-only, at least for now. But because the games were originally released for the ZX Spectrum, they can be easily obtained here:

Grab an emulator from here:
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html
(I personally recommend Klive) and you're good to go. It's not 100% legal, but it's so old no one is going to mind (for more information, read ). The [url=http://www.worldofspectrum.org/showwrap.cgi?permit=import/DamienBurke.html#GOLLOP]author is fine with it, as is the current IP holder (which would be the British Telecom).

I suspect that the main issue with Rebelstar is the systems that it was released on. ZX spectrum & Amstrad CPC

*edit* Darn ninja, but this gives me the moment to also point out that there was also a GBA game called Rebelstar: Tactical Command that is a part of the series.

Too old? No such thing. The important questions are:
Was it a DOS (or Windows) game? If yes: There's a possibility for GOG to release it. If no: GOG doesn't do emulators, yet.
Who owns it now?
Are the current owners willing to release the game here?

Yeah, but GBA game isn't sold in stores anyhoo so I would have to buy it through amazon. I kind of buy games I'm interested in to support developers so I don't really like buying through amazon. SIlly I know.

BTW, so what about Laser Squad or Laser Squad: Nemesis? Those games have PC versions.

See the questions in my previous post.

We don't know what deals GOG are working on at any given moment, and they don't tell until everything's ready. There's a chance they're getting ready to release the games on Thursday (though I quite doubt it), there's also a chance they have already contacted the owner but got negative replies, or have yet to contact the owner, or anything in between.
