Maybe you played a different RAGE version than everyone else in the world. The game was buggy as hell when it was released. It was a fucking mess.

I have played RAGE shortly after release as well, it worked fine on my computer. And looked great, by the way.

i bought rage on steam about a month ago, i have played about 7 hours of it, and i only had one problem very briefly that i suspect had something to do with my system, not the game. other then that i have found the whole thing to be very smooth, and VERY fun! as to the turning to fast problem, i had found that for the most part your enemy's are in front of you, and you don't really need to turn around that much. exception being the mutant bash TV segment. and of course, i have only played 7 hours of the game.

I had to wait about 4 months before they finally released a patch that let Rage work with my computer. When it did work, it was fantastic. The only trouble was the obnoxious pop-in that everyone is talking about. There were options to tweak files to mitigate it, but my computer at the time could not handle what was necessary for it.

It's fun, though some of the computer unfriendly options left me a tad disappointed in id.

Oh yes, texture pop-in was a nice special effect. Wish more games used it.

Been wondering about this game since its release. Seen a few cheap digital copies floating around.Is it worth $4 for the SP campaign?. have a ati 5670 card... likely to be any issues?. Not sure about downloading 20gb though...sheesh..

I played on a 5670 and a dual core processor. Didn't have any issues I remember.

PC gaming is not a hobby where you can assume your experience, or the experience of the loud on forums, is universal. Every single game ever released on PC has a bunch of people who insist it is broken.

Apparently, John Carmack himself called the PC release of Rage a "cluster fuck." The problems with this game were pretty widespread at launch.

Nope, you're an asshole for stating that everybody had issues with it on launch. I don't really give a damn about what do you say, I have not noticed texture pop-in - if it were in the game, it did not bother me. Sue me :-P
