XYCat: man, 2K
not that i hate those guys, i actually like the games they publish, but their policy on DLCs sucks balls man

the most blatant case is Borderlands 2 with season pass that doesn't even include additional playable characters, none of the costumes and most importantly it doesn't even include all of the additional playable content dlcs. They're pretty cunning with their greed.

Cormoran: Considering their other shenanigans I'd actually think this was influenced more by Gearbox. Is there any non-Gearbox game published by take-two/2K that does this?
most notably Civilization V, but that didn't have any season pass. Civ V just had a couple dlcs, then a GOTY followed by more dlcs
Once a company get purchased by a bigger company, it doesn't matter if the employees remain the same, there wil be a culture change. Mostly detrimental. I can't help but think of Westwood Studios. Such great classics from that company then gutted. Oh well, everything is always changing.
If LeVine is just Moving on, I don'T see why Irrational would have to be shut down and have most of Ze employees let go. I guess I Could see 2K going Down this route if theY plan on pUtting the series on hiatus... 2K must have given ken a good pitch to stay, But chances are slim that his new projects will end up on GOG....... At any Rate, looking Forward to seeing what he comes up with. Maybe a super Hero themed game! ^5

Grargar: Don't forget Hardened and Deluxe.
Oo, and I left off that most desirable of all, Limited. An especially apt modifier when a later release turns around and includes the content from that edition as well.

Limited to the number they can sell.

Oh, and there is also Special, Legendary and Premium.
Looks like there is more to it http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/211139/Irrational_Games_journalism_and_airing_dirty_laundry.php

ShadowWulfe: Less innovative technologywise, or less innovative video gamewise?
Well, surely technology-wise.
Ken Levine is a writer, a creative, and he is surely innovative himself: Thief and System Shock 2 are good proofs, aren't them?
Well my fav was bioshock 2, still loved the first and 3rd no less.

I guess we will see more story driven mobile games but the sad part is except 17 people rest of the team got laid off
Reading bits of that, i get the impression BI probably didn't make the sales they wanted (EA style) and as a result they got the chop (downsized in this case pretty much). Or at least thats what the article seems to insinuate. Interesting how almost none of the people who worked on the original didn't touch BI...

Yeah i thought it sold well from what i heard guess it didn't sell well enough for 2K.

Great signs for the future of the AAA gaming industry when a game sells 4 million and that gets the studio shut down.

I realize BI was in development hell for a while, but it seems companies haven't learned a thing from the last generation of consoles and are only continuing on a path over a cliff. Established series like GTA and COD will stick around, but experimenting on new IPs will be thinning out big time.

ElPrimordial: Flappy Bioshock??? :P

Theta_Sigma: Candy Shock Saga
Angry Birds Bioshock ed.
Majong-Shock

On a serious note...this is sad news, both for fans of their games and those who work for the company. I hope those who were let go find work soon. :(
I would pay top dollar for a System Shock themed Candy Saga, it would make it good.

Really? I would pay for a Candy Crush Saga themed System Shock game. With their history that isn't exactly outside the realm of possible either. :D HI-YO!!
