Yeah I just looked it up and assuming the urban dictionary thing is right, it sounds pretty bloody stupid to ban someone for it. Sure if it was spammed endlessly it'd be worth not only a permanent ban but possible forced sterilisation but then thats just spamming, the "word" is hardly relevant.
Still IRC is hardly relevant to me, it's always seemed to be like xbox live without the fun of a game...

Yeah I know that is very annoying, but I don't recall Skrylar flooding it like that. As we may see, this is not a public hysteria but rather a rampage of just one person (TheJoe) (though other people had repeated it as well). In my humblest opinion it is still no reason to permaban another person for it... I understand the feeling but you should probably not use it when operating a channel.

It's gotten to the point where people are nick stealing my name and the only people that can do anything refuse to.

It is kinda childish to permaban anyone using the word, if you can call it a word, "WOLOLO" yet mods or others can say things like "FUCK YOU" which DOES have a real world meaning with no recourse whatsoever.
I appreciate that using WOLOLO constantly several hundred time to fill the screen is annoying and is a concerted effort to disrupt so would naturally have some sort of repercussion, I would have assumed that using it once or twice in a conversation would not warrant such an action.
Obviously the mods have mood swings just like everyone else but a little bit of comom sense and fairness should ensue, saying "FUCK YOU" is not an official response that a mod should use as they are expected to diffuse and mete out action as and when appropriate, but who mods the mods?
All it does it give GOG a bad name and make it a playground for people who visit to troll.

I would think one would keep personal attacks out of a thread regarding complaint elevation to moderators. Granted I don't know if the forum moderators drop the same balls as IRC moderators since I don't use the forums much.
It came to the forums because discreet attempts at resolution were fruitless; I was forced to bring it in to public view for any attempts at a resolution to be actuated.

Of course, since I'm already here, I should point out a few things:
1. The IRC channel is not a GOG official channel and other than the courtesy GOG did by stickying the "IRC?" thread, it has nothing to do with this forum.
2. Only those forum members who actually use IRC might care in the about this, and lets face it, most of them aren't actually going to care in the slightest, so why did you even bother to post it here?
3. By all appearances, this issue was resolved, it just wasn't resolved to your satisfaction. So don't give us any BS about you were "forced" to post it here to get a resolution "actuated". It's plainly obvious you posted it here out of spite. That alone says to me that your IRC ban was probably justified.
4. Get over yourself and get over your IRC ban. There are far more important things in life.

Most everything you and I do, will not matter to anyone ever in two weeks.
If it is something that's unpleasant, and it won't matter to anyone in two weeks, why bother with it?
