Hope you don't mind the shameless plug, but I thought I'd mention that IMG has put up a pair of articles I've been working on which hopefully will be the start of a regular series on getting GOG.com titles to work on the Mac. I've been mainly focusing on CrossOver, which is I've been most familiar with, but I'll of course be mentioning Wineskin and Boxer as well.

The intro is here: http://www.insidemacgames.com/features/view.php?ID=579&Page=1 and my first piece looking at XIII is here: http://www.insidemacgames.com/features/view.php?ID=578

Comments/feedback/flaming is always welcome...
I wonder what Feral Interactive will think about that XIII article. =P

Hopefully make a universal binary of their old PPC OS X port? :) I think they still sell the game on their website, and I think it even works somewhat on Rosetta. But with 10.7 having deep-sixed PPC compatibility, GOG's copy is the way to go.

As an aside, I have nothing but love for Feral. They make the best OS X native ports out there, and their support and love for their customers is fantastic - as an example, they recently released a new beta for a 10.6+ compatible universal binary for Oni.

EDIT: My memory is a little rusty - it was actually about a year ago this month. It's not a universal binary (AFAIK) but it is Intel-native. It's an unofficial build released on the oni.bungie.org community forums that piggybacks on some of the original work that The OMNI Group did with their old OS X port. Edwin talked about doing an official release once the bugs were worked out, but the beta works excellently as-is:

I've used it to play through the game on my old GMA 950 Core Duo MacBook and the game works fine for me. It's also compatible with the latest version of the Anniversary Edition and its architecture for user mods.
