Because we all know Destructoid is the bastion of game journalism and you can trust them when they say that Infinity Ward is making an MMO.
This seems like a good place to share a revelation I had while sniffing some old cheese leftover in the back of the fridge last night.
All the currently single-player (or mostly, at least) IPs that we know and love will turn into a MMO.
Command and Conquer will. Call of Duty will. Warcraft and Lord of the Rings already has. Half-Life will.
There's clearly money to be had by making a killer single-player experiences and selling that, but there's even more if you can intice chumps like us to pay a monthly recurring fee.
Let's just assume, for ease of discussion, that it's an MMOFPS. Then, a part of me wants to get it because of the fact that there are only two MMOFPSes around - one of which is owned by Sony, and the other I don't have the time to learn, much less play casually.
OTOH, I can just about imagine every MW fankid yelling "feckin newwwwwb" on Vent...
Never mind :)

Navagon: HOW DO I MINE FOR MINES?

Best foot forward, my young chap. Best foot forward.
:D
Surely an mmofps would just be an automatic win for the people in the host country due to the huge amounts of lag when tracking thousands of players all trying to spawncamp at once
Wasn't there a canceled Halo MMO?
I've heard some rumors about CoD MMO too, but I can't remember where.
However if this comes true, the players would probably need to purchase their ammo via credit card (on top of monthly fees, of course. Bobby wants more money).
Imagine that:
assault rifle magazine - 15 cents
grenade - 25 cents
airstrike - 4 dollars
etc.

Don't forget the atrocity that is the Asia-only Dungeon Keeper MMO announced a while ago.
Well those twerps are gonna have to come up with some editors that obliterates what APB has if they want my attention.
Ridiculous character editor, custom tattoos, custom clothes, custom vehicles, custom kill-music, integrated last.fm so that other players can hear your own custom track lists as you drive past them (or hear music thats close to what your listening to), interesting dynamic match-making. integrated voicechat with voice fonts (dunno how good this is though)

Isn't there already FPS games that do that? I can't remember if there is one out or if its still in development, heard about it a couple of years back on TV. But the game is supposed to be free to download and play but you need to buy ammo to play it. Can't remember what the game is called only that it looks very UT-like.
