PenutBrittle: And that is not supporting developers.

Plus it's all moot, because you're not the person giving away a key. You're the one begging. And and [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/general/indie_royale_july_jubilee_bundle/post2]begging and begging. Indeed, it hardly seems like you support developers at all.
At the end of the day though, people trading keys will in many cases already have bought the game beforehand or through another bundle. That means that the developers have already been supported by those buyers on more than one occasion.

As an example - I bought Children of the Nile on disc back in the day when it was still published by Sega, then I bought it again for the expansion pack on Steam, now I've just bought it again through the bundle.

That means that I have paid Tilted Mill three times for this game. I've paid 11 bit Studios four times now for Anomaly: Warzone Earth (I bought it on Steam well before it came out in the Humble Bundles). Thus, you cannot seriously argue that by giving away or trading my Steam key for this, I'm doing wrong by the devs.

Putting it bluntly, Tilted Mill and 11-bit can count their lucky stars that I saw fit to pay for their games several times over. Don't get me wrong, they're more than deserving of the money, but anyone throwing a pissy-fit about me giving away or trading a key for a game that I have already paid for several times over can quite frankly kiss my ass right in the crack.

Now, splitting up the keys for the same game, that's an entirely different kettle of fish, and yes, I agree, it's wrong, morally and legally. I'll be giving away my CotN and Anomaly Steam keys, but certainly not any of my Dream Machine or Puzzle Agent 2 keys.

Cavalieroscuro: not for keys giveaway.

PenutBrittle: Then why did you ask for keys again and again and again? And no, I don't really want a PM discussion, thanks. It's a rhetorical question, I already know the answer.
I'm not asking for a key always.I ask sometimes, when I can't buy a bundle/I don't wanna buy a bundle because I own 3/4 of games. And I'm not the only one who asked for a key here,so stop this trolling thing and live happy.

That's fine. I don't have to like it, but I get that it happens.

I have a problem with people asking for games repeatedly, especially when the price for these games are so low to begin with. If you can't afford a fiver for a game you genuinely want to play, you might as well just pirate them because you've got some financial issues that need sorting out.

I dont't ask for games repeatedly. For example I asked for a Stalker key because I can't buy the Amazon bundle due to US restrictions.I asked for a Spirits key because I bought the Humble Bundle who already had it but I can't beat the average,
And no,I do not pirate games. So you are saying that asking for a key is illegaly, and pirate a game is not?

Cavalieroscuro: Yes I read that,but...Who cares?I mean,I bought a bundle,I already have that game,I gift the steam key.Simply.They can't do anything about that, because your steam key is bounded to your mail, not to your steam account.
I'm in error?Yes,maybe, but maybe 1 million of other users are in error like me.
I buy a game from gog, I gift that game to three of my friends. simple. They can't do anything about that, because it is DRM free.

the point is all about personal ethics and supporting initiatives you like. In my opinion, taking advantage of a system set up to make things as good as possible for the customer and asking them to obey the few rules they have makes you a douchebag, especially since the asking price is ridiculously low. If the game is not worth the minimum $3.00 asking price for the bundle, it is not worth playing. There is not many rules they have, and I will not make myself a 'thief' (sigh pirating is not theft etc....) for a mere $3.00.
I just picked up this bundle, but I already have a copy of Anomaly: Warzone Earth. If someone wants the steam key for that one, just reply, I'll PM it to first response.

But if you already have one game of the bundle you are not stealing anything. If you go to a store and buy three copies of Dishonored, and you gave two of them to friends, you are not stealing.
If you buy a bundle and you have one of the three games because you already bought it preaviously, you are not stealing, because in fact you bought two copies of one game, and you are giving one to another people.

Yes you are, because you are not buying the games individually, but as a bundle. If you want to use the Dishonoured example - you bought three copies to be able to give away two. Why is this any different?

The point is, you buy them as one item, and that's the terms you agree to when you buy them. You can also buy one copy of Dishonoured and make your friends two copies - same thing in my view

And you don't think the developers behind the 1/4 that you don't own deserve your money. You're happy to enjoy their work, but you don't want to pay them for it.

Cavalieroscuro: On this forum usually there are LOTS of giveaway, and one of my post enraging you so much?
Yes, there are lots of giveaways. Usually they involve giving a game away, not asking for one to be given.

avatar
Cavalieroscuro: I dont't ask for games repeatedly.
Along with the four times I've already pointed out, there's two more. Is six enough to say you're asking repeatedly? Yeah, I think so.

avatar
Cavalieroscuro: So you are saying that asking for a key is illegaly, and pirate a game is not?
Obviously begging is legal and pirating is not. But you're giving the exact same amount of compensation to and showing the exact same amount of respect for the developers. I don't see the difference from a moral standpoint.

If a buyer chooses to give away an extra copy, that's their own choice and I'm hardly going to condemn it, even if I don't agree. If a beggar asks to have an extra copy (not once, but four times), that's essentially saying that the people behind the games they want to play aren't worth paying out of their own pocket.

Could you please stop trying to justify your unjustifiable position with crude and non-functional arguments?

If you want to lie to yourself and tell yourself that what you're doing is okay, then do it, we can't stop you. But please don't publicly make a fool (or worse) of yourself, okay?
