etna87: Well, yes, it was certainly meant to be like this. And intentionally bad trailers/movies/whatever can certainly be done in a way that is funny or amusing. Imho, that was not the case with this trailer. It was just bad and the irony was lost... or maybe I'm simply too tired of all the DLC abuse and resulting ridicule. Anyway, thanks for the descriptions. Gonna skip this bundle.

bazilisek: Trying way too hard only to torch a strawman. Haven't played the actual game, but it looks like something that would amuse me for a few minutes, if it were free and made in Flash. (Like that achievement game with the elephants, whatever it was called, that one was at least genuinely clever at times.)

I got Hard Reset as a gift from the Steam pile. Played it for a bit, seemed fun enough. Jolly Rover is good; it's a very light-hearted, casual Monkey Island-ish game you'll clear in an evening. And it's got a rather charming developer commentary. So those two are definitely worth the asking price if you don't have them already.

EDIT: The game was called "Achievement Unlocked", of course. And look, it's spawned a sequel, too.
DLC Quest is in no way as good as Achievement Unlocked. Its satire is a subtle and fine as a monkey throwing feces around. You could actually have made a decent game out of the concept if the creator didn't forced his "critical context" down the players throat.

Avoid DLC Quest, it's rubbish.

Not quite on the level of Serious Sam the GameMa...err... Greek Encounter, but very close.

That serious sam game was a disaster. It looks and plays like a crummy early 2000's flash game.
I actually liked the DLC Quest (note that it'll last max 1h) while I only started once The Greek Encounter.
To be honest, the Indie Royale has clearly become second fiddle to the Humble Bundle, which has pretty much established itself as not only the "original" pay-what-you-want bundle but also the best, simply because it consistently offers Windows, Linux and Mac versions and provides both DRM free versions and Steam keys. Not to mention that the games in the HIB are well known, respected and there aren't generally any fillers in there.

Then again, "second fiddle" is better than "cheap copy", which is basically what IndieGala and BeMine have been.

Somewhat related, news from Flying Wild Hog, the Hard Reset guys:

"Hey guys, First of all thanks for all the support you showed us with our first game!
To show our respect for all the PC gamers who picked up Hard Reset, we decided that the upcoming Expansion will be FREE for all those who already own Hard Reset on Steam!
The DLC should be available sometime between the last week of April and the first week of May."

I've played worse. Much, much worse. At least it's passable.

Best news, if you ask me.

So is it an expansion or is it DLC? ;)
Nice, I guess I should redeem my Hard Reset code on Steam then.

grynn: I can offer something for Desura codes if you won't use.

I already have Hard Reset and Jolly Rover so I'm not buying the bundle, but it's great for the money if you don't have those.
Still interested in desura codes?
Looking back I missed out on the 3rd Indie Royale bundle (Cthulu, Runespell, Eufloria). Don't know why I didn't buy this one, but I wish I did. I hope that maybe in the future Indie Royale does promotion where they offer past bundles.
Bought it for Hard Reset and that DLC game.
Ill probably get it for the DRM free Hard reset version (got it on steam during a sale). Other games in bundle any good?
