A perfect mix of tower defense and RPG, now both in fantasy and Sci-Fi flavor!

Defender's Quest, an addictive mixture of tower defense and RPG set in a world shattered by mysterious disease, is available 83% off, on GOG.com. That's only $2.49 for the next 24 hours!

Did you ever want to have special psychic powers that would let you toy with souls of living human beings and bind them to your will? Please don't answer. Azra, the Royal Librarian, never asked for such a thing. In fact, she never asked for any of the ordeals that fate put her through. But--willing or not--she's become a hero and the future of her homeland depends solely on her. All because of her suddenly discovered ability to turn her companions into etheric specters and command them like pawns around a battlefield existing outside space and time. Wanna hear a secret? She's starting to enjoy it.

Defender's Quest does many things that many games fail to do. First of all, it's a tower defense game that never gets boring. That's mostly achieved by mixing in many RPG elements. That leads us to another thing that this game gets right--mixing genres. Nine times out of ten combining so very different gaming philosophies will backfire. Here, we've got the lucky number ten, that managed to hit the sweet spot and emerge as a perfect and seamless combination. The gameplay here is just as much enjoyable and intuitive, as it is fresh. The brilliant, unforced humor serves as the cherry on top. You'll be enjoying this game for hours. Be warned, though--it's quite addictive! The game comes with a full MP3 soundtrack and an official mod turning the original fantasy campaign into campy Sci-Fi flick.

Answer the mysterious call, grasp the mystical power, and face the ominous force that plagues the Valley of the Forgotten. Are you prepared for hours of enthralling gameplay? Get your copy of Defender's Quest, for only $2.49 until Thursday, February 20, 10:59AM GMT.

UPDATE: There's a lenghty browser-based demo of the game RIGHT HERE (with the option to export your progress into the full version).

This is a tower defense game? Wow I did not know that....
Awesome game! I have put more than 70+ hours on it, so I don´t get the complaints about being short, nor the ones about being easy, since once you have beaten the main campaing there´s a hardcore mode with new levels where the things get impossible to go through. Seriously, even if you don´t like the genre, buy it, it will change your idea.
Oh, it was fun playing this.....now i am tempt to play again

I agree bro. I'm not a huge Tower defense guy, and I really liked this game alot. I think the length was nice, and as you stated, you can make things plenty hard on yourself with the new levels and hardcore mode. This game is a real gem overall IMHO
You know you have a game addiction problem when you see this notice, think "Cool, I've been waiting for that to go on sale: I'm getting it!" and then realize you already bought it six months earlier. :P
you gog evil *...
putting this demo in front of me in the middle of my work! and i was thinking "great, new promo but buing, instaling, not now... o! look, demo one click away..." ;]
Not my cup of genre-tea, but good price for such a game.

I warmly suggest you buy it . It's the best TD game ever made, and the first one I ever enjoyed .
If you don't have this game it's a good time to get it.
If you do but haven't played it yet it's a good time to do so.
If you have it and finished it already it's a good time to play again but in hero mode (without hiring generic defenders)
It's an awesome game and you will have good time playing it
got it a while back due to the demo he he.this and defense grid ( why is this not on Gog?) are the two best tower defense games out there IMHO.nice promo!!!
I too have very much enjoyed playing this one, so much so I bought a second copy to share. Pretty good story and some humorous dialog make it fun and personally I very much enjoy the RPG elements which make this much more of an RPG to my mind than a Tower Defense in terms of how most Tower Defense games are done. Definitely recommended, plus with a demo it's easy to get started and see how you like the gameplay (and then continue your demo game right into the full game if you pick this one up).
I will never buy a Tower Defense game, or so I thought until GOG wisely put that demo to try on the promotion page. So easy, just click and see it, if you like it you can use the save with the game if you decide to buy. One simple click and one hour vanished. Safe to say I bought the game. The rpg elements is what I like so much in this game. Well done GOG, you got a sale with that clever tactic!
When I first saw this game I thought the idea of paying for a tower defense game (especially one at fifteen dollars) was a dumb idea when there were hundreds of them for free on the internet to be played just on your browser. That being said two things made me buy it. One was just playing the demo and two was just the fact that the developers seemed like really cool people. The game not only ended up being great, but it ended up being the best tower defense game out there free or not. This is the tower defense game that sets the standard for pretty much any future tower defense game, especially the ones you pay for. I can not recommend this game enough!
Excellent promo! Not much of a tower defense lover myself, but after reading all the coments and doing some more research, I'm sold! Especially at such a great discount, can't say no to that price. Excellent!
I don't usually like tower defense games, but I really enjoyed this game and also Defense Grid: The Awakening. For this price I'd heartily recommend it to almost anyone. Although getting 100% in this game was way too hard for me. There's a couple of gold stars on NG+ I'm sure are downright impossible.
