grynn: At least Shank devs were kinda indie even though EA published it, just like Deathspank. But Flatout has nothing to do with the term of indie.
Indie is a loosely defined term anyway. The most clear definition that I have heard (and this is also the one used for the music industry) is that it is a game company that is not linked to any form of stock market or such, that is privately owned and not released by any of the big publishers (or record labels in the case of the music scene). Basically that they are independent and not directly reliant on any big greedy source that just wants money and don't care about the actual quality (stock holders). That might make Valve indie though, as that company is independently owned. It is questionable if it would make Shank or Bastion indie, as those were published by major publishers.

I remember reading somewhere Gorge Lucas saying he was the worlds largest Indie film maker, and somewhere else that Star Wars is the most profitable indie film ever made.

It was, nobody wanted to touch it the studio's thought he was nuts to make it and it wasn't till SFX were in production that a studio finally signed up
People, who cares? It's FREE and BONUS game. Be happy about it. Who cares if it's actually indie, if it comes for free?
Bonus game added, Gear Grinder. From the product page - 'This game is DRM Free and doesn't require STEAM'.

Also 3 music albums: Electric Children - All Night Party, DJ Cutman - Chiptune Hero and F-777 - Viper EP.
