I still plug in IG2 from time to time. Never been my fave but a solid game none the less.
who actually has the rights to to ig1 and ig2?
Have you tried Open-IG, a remake made by some of the original devs I believe.

Digital Reality's website has me believing they are in the process of making Imperium Galactica 3 or Stargazer as it is called.

So it's a planned online game. Sadly not my cup of tea since i finished with mmo's.
Damn shame since the only taste i got from IG2 was a demo several years back on a pc magazine i played for far too many hours.

I agree, 4x games don't work well as an mmo, I still have nightmares from playing O-game when I didn't log in for a couple of days all my planets got blasted and all resources stolen. =(
Thanks for all the awesome replies been really helpful, I miss been able to play my original IG never been able to find another 4x game with such an intense story to keep it going and make you believe your part of it.

If you still have the discs it shouldn't be much of work to get it working again in Dosbox.
