I thought as much as well. The prices here are probably a bit higher than those in Germany, and the cheapest GTX 560 Ti in my local computer store costs 199€ (the second-cheapest being 225€).

The same store offers several GTX 550 Ti models for less than 150€ (Asus, Palit and Gigabyte are the cheapest at 129€), many of them factory-overclocked, so you get more power without voiding the warranty; these can be identified by the OC suffix. All GTX 560's are more than 150€.

I recently swapped my 4870 for a 7770 just to get the rig stay cooler and quieter,
might be a hair faster as well but that was not the point.

From AMD side of things, 6850 or 6870 would be the ones to consider.
7770 is a bit more expensive, draws significantly less power, but is no faster.

Nvidia 560 is a solid choice as well.

I think I'm leaning towards the 560 Ti. I had some bad experiences with my ATI 4870, so maybe it is time for a switch.

How is Gainward ? I'm considering going for this.

I have my (first) Gainward card for about half a year now and didn't have any problems. I don't know how good Gainward's support is _if_ one has problems. In terms of brand reputation, I think Gainward ranges somewhere in the upper middle class.

The card you linked is a regular 560 Ti, it doesn't have the "Phantom" cooling solution that Gainward offers for people interested in lower noise levels. Not sure how important that is for you; the Phantom card would be more expensive.

As the noise is my main promblem with the current card, I think I'm willing to pay that.

I have two year warranty by law for which the retailer is my partner and I had good experiences with mindfactory. After that a breakdown could be a good excuse to get a better card ;-).

Fun fact, my very first legal case, as a first semester student, was enforcing the warranty of an unwilling retailer. Ah, good times.

Yes. Will be great if card has:

-Factory overclocked.
-Silent
-Good cooling.

MSI Twin Frozer III GTX 560 Ti is "Silent", "Overclocked", and got one of the best "Cooling" the graphic cards could have.

Mind you, it's also quite a lot more expensive than the TwinFrozr II OC. Incidentally, that's what I've got. Can't tell if it's quiet since I've got plenty of fans blowing this way and that, though.
