Hovis1974: Rager, is that the Vanilla version or are you running a Res Mod? i don't remember the game looking that......crisp? lol i might be mistaken, i'll have to bust out my copy now



Edit: nevermind...after looking at the rest of your pics, i see they're from the original...it just seems ?better? than i remember.....

GameRager: I am using the new visions texture high res pack and HDTP high res item/character pack....as well as the DX10 render and Deus EXE listed in the mods thread of the DX sub-forums.

Shhhh....SPOILERS. :P.....:)

Also yeah, the game looks pretty decent without all the niceties, but with them it looks so much better. I also tried it out with the new OpenGL renderer but didn't like it as much.

Unreal still looks the best of all the games that use its engine, IMO. Deus Ex tends to err on the side of blandness with its environments, and Undying didn't utilize texture detailing at all.

I actually think the bleak look of Deus Ex fits the plot nicely. Dystopian future/etc. Undying was a bit undetailed even for it's setting/plot but I still liked it to a degree(moreso for the combat and story than the graphics.).

BTW look at my newly cleaned office....back in the saddle again. :)

It was a cliche horror plot but the scottish "undertones" and way it was done/presented made it feel awesome in my eyes.

I absolutely loved Undying.....but for pretty much the same reason...visually? eh, not so good but the story and atmophere was fantastic, one of the first games that actually made me play with the lights on.

BTW Rager, i really like the "playthrough" but i must get to bed, carry on gents....

I'm quite sure I have at least started up the game or demo, but to be honest I cannot remember anything at all. Might've just been some gameplay video(s) for all I remember.
