I know the feeling. Yesterday I attempted to play Machinarium again, and got frustrated and just watched an LP instead. I'm glad I did, some of those puzzles were very obtuse.

I hope DoubleFine's new PnC doesn't use moon logic like many of these games do.
Yep, as others already said, might be a case of particular game and you may try others in the genre. Say, I find Diablo extremely entertaining and fairly easy PnC. You basically just have to point and click a lot and things die. And then you point and click and get loot!

As others have mentioned repeatedly, Full Throttle does not have particularly good puzzle design. Personally, I think the story is excellent, but the gameplay itself is sorely lacking.

So in my opinion, it's not you, it's the game. Don't let it turn you off all classic PnC games, you'll really miss out.

If you can get no enjoyment out of DOTT, then it's you!

But Full Throttle, jep, that had some awful puzzles and timed sequences.

"Do I have to hurry?"
"No, it's a LucasArts game, you can't die in those"
"..."
" ... oops ... "

I guess I just assumed FT had good puzzles because it's so worshiped. I have played dozens of PnCs, just none that recently other than Gemini Rue (which I did enjoy).

Indeed. It can be hard to find the balance between challenge and logic. I hope to make a PnC one of these days, but it would probably be a bit too easy and short. On the other hand, I'd try to make sure it would give that feeling of "Oh, I didn't need to use Gamefaqs to figure this out," which Yahtzee says the best adventure games/PnCs provide. I agree with this.
