Yes, finally I want to try a genre, which will be completely new to me: "Serious games". Now I am looking forward to some recommendations.

I am not talking about this simulator-bulls***, where you are allowed to drive a bus (lol) or work as a farmer (lol^2). Instead I am thinking of games with a serious setting like the Emergency-series (which is quite funny beside its obvious weak parts), some Tycoon-games (Transport Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon 2, to mention some good ones) or Capitalism.

It is not important, if the game is older or newer; it should just be "good". Sadly I am not that familiar with this genre, so here is where you come into this! ;)
Rollercoaster Tycoon is serious business.

It sounds like you don't really mean "serious", but rather "realistic". Would this be a fair assumption?
You mean like this, a game you can learn something from?

GOG also has some Serious games.

(Oh come on, as if I was the only one thinking about that)

Edit: woopsy, wrong quoting...

As far as I know,Democracy 2,developer Positech games is famous for Gratuitous Great Battles,is best.It teach player that what group exists in nation-state,how government decide policies, how effect each policy to society, and what politician should do with polished interface.Gameplay is really good with respectable simulation.

Yes, kind of, but a little more than just realistic. Maybe the Arma- or the Heart of Iron-series or games like DCS A10C may be realistic (maybe not), but I don't think about those games. It is more about the realistic background and solving realistic problems.

Beside of that, I will take a closer look into those real serious games. Originally I don't wanted to actually learn something while playing, but as far as I can see they could be intersting, too.

Now, please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not trying to insult you, I'm simply curious, but are you using some sort of translation software to write your posts? It's just that there are no spelling errors at all, as far as I can see, but the grammar and punctuation is all over the place.

I'm not criticizing you. English obviously isn't your first language, and as such it can't be expected to be perfect, I'm just really curious like I said. If my question offends you, then I apologize.

Does it get more serious than Serious Sam? Mostly yes. =)

How about Fate of the world?

Also, have you checked out AGEOD's strategy games? Pride of Nations might be of interest to you (though be warned, it is not easy to get into).

And as you mentioned the Tycoon games, East India Company or Commander: Conquest of the Americas might also be of interest. Also, Patrician 3 and/or Port Royale would probably be something for you.
