thanks and +1

DRM, i have nothing against devs protecting their games....as long as it doesn't cut
my rights as owner of the game. Yes, like the European Court says someone who buys
a game is the owner, not a user. That means that i don't buy any games with third party
services like Origin, UPlay or Steam and nothing using protection like Starforce or any
with limited activation codes.

Of course not in.
I am in for a second chance.
Steamy BUMP
Happy half year birthday Lou! Not in, just wanted to wish you. Also, I use Steam and prefer it as a gaming platform as opposed to the social platform that theyre trying to make it into. Would prefer drm-free obviously if Steam ever goes kaput but for now, its no big deal.
Thanks for your generousity, Lou! +1

Not in.
Count me in. Thanks, Lou.

For me Steam is good because...
* Huge catalog.
* Huge community, means good for multiplayer, active forum, active modding, lots of gifts, trading pals.
* Steam achievements & trading cards, though only for some titles compared to the entire catalog.
* Sites like Humble Bundle use Steam, almost exclusively.
* Crazy discounts, deals, and many other ways to get the games so cheaply, compared to GOG.

It's bad because...
* DRM, requires internet. It sux because my connection is slow and unstable and I'm not always have internet access.
* Key redemption only possible through desktop client.
* The games in a bundle gone/unusable if you already have some already.
* Regional pricing and lockouts. My country usually unfavorable at these things.

I use Steam because many of my favorite games are only available on Steam, like Civilization, Total War, Counterstrike, etc. Besides I can get very cheap or even free Steam games, compared to GOG. I don't have a lot of money, so that helps me much.

I mentioned a lot of pros above for Steam, but in the end GOG is the best. DRM Free-ness means so much to me. But there's more. I've explained in the wall of text at my recent giveaway. About DRM, my biggest problem is the requirement of continuous/stable internet access.
Deploying my strategic reserves (extra entry) into action...now.

Thanks for providing us with this, Lou.
For some reason I havent entered... may as well I suppose... IN!

Well... I got sucked into steam with the purchase of the Orange Box - and there was no mention of steam or any form of online activation at the point of sale (it was bought as a gift for me), i didnt have internet at the time and had to use the neighbours. Suffice to say I wasnt best pleased and very quickly put it down - for some years.
However, after joining ModDB / Desura and then GOG, I was slowly but surely swept towards susing steam again. It's still not a great service, but the games are pretty damned cheap in sales, and bundles of course.
It's quite handy as a games library (though I have not bothered to add any non-steam games to it).

I'd still rather do without it at all, but there are worthwhile games that cant be played without - and many games i would not have played without having a steam account - either through gifts or very cheap bargaisn at saletimes.

Edit: will put my second entry in an hour I suppose

Extra entry :-D
2nd entry. :p
Now I dont know if this is an extra entry or sloppy seconds
For my second entry I'll add that I don't like DRM! I won't buy, play, or even talk about games that use it. I like to pretend they don't exist. (I do make an exception for Steam, but as I mentioned before they lose 90% of their value in my mind, and if they have added DRM, they get the cold shoulder) Also, PC gaming master race!
Great one Lou! Thanks for the giveaway.

Please, count me in for this ape-man, if possible.

In my opinion, Steam is a very well made platform but, in a perfect world, it shouldn't exists or, at least, should be left to the user as a possible choice for gaming experience. It offers great possibilities, such as social gaming, cloud storing, ecc. but no users should be forced to use it to play any games, like Bethesda or Valve ones.

I like Steam. Tons of good games at good prices and discounts (even better with the regional pricing).
My only gripe with it, is when I'm without connection (3rd world, happens a lot, what can I do? ;p) and the freaking app doesn't let me open offline.

Count me in for the poop face monkey this time, please?

Thanks Lou!
Ok - So I have been a bit busy and I am tired and its very late - I will close Tuesday evening instead (that's the benefit of running your own giveaway) So get those entries in and don't forget the second chances. ;-)
