Zolgar: Best RPG for loot.... Hard call, but I think Titan Quest gets it, because the loot made sense.. and if you were going to get that uber awesome unique bow from a Satyre, you had to deal with that bastard USING that bow on you, first.
And this, right here is why TQ rocked so hard! I love that game and the mechanics. Must stop gushing now...

SillyHollow: Edit: World of Warcraft is doing one hell of a job too to feed my Loot Whore'ism.

KavazovAngel: Between farming rep and rare mounts, I don't think any game does it "better".
Wait you "like" rep grinding? I didn't think I'd ever meet anyone who did!

Landeril: Any Dungeon and Dragons games
You know, seeing what the devs of these games have deigned to include is kind of fun, because you just know some items are too hard to work into the engine or too overpowered. Sometimes you find something and you think "Wow, no shit, I really get to beat up on the game with that!? SWEET!!!!"

Oh I know. I love finding that stuff. :D I enjoy equipping my characters with big things. I wish I could get the other D&D games from GOG. But I just got Septerra and will be getting another game by monday or tuesday.

I said "better", not better. :p

I don't like rep grinding, but I do like some of the daily quests... some are quite fun when you aren't doing them EVERY day. :p

Oh you're still missing them after the last sale? Which ones, not PS:T I hope?

Oh sure, now I get ya. Yeah, I only ever liked the results of rep grinding (standing around and showing off your shiznit), but since I had top end raid and pvp gear already most of it wasn't that spectacular, save the mounts.

No. I got PS:T :D

I'm missing both Icewind Dales, and Baldur's Gate 2. And Temple of Elemental Evil iirc about that one.

Thanks for Icewind Dale

Slump: Damn straight. I've been playing Torchlight off and on since it's release and I can honestly say I really only do so because of it's loot system. It's the main thing torchlight has going for it. Heck, even Diablo II and Diablo at least had some multiplayer and some cinematics to go along with loot. Torchlight is just a simple loot fest and love it.

orcishgamer: Yeah but most of the loot is so damned bad. I mean I packrat the set items like everyone else, but most of those blow too.
I also bought this game over the Steam Summer Sale. I made several different storage characters in Torchlight: one for each class, one for uniques, one for sets, one for jewelry, and one for just general storage (for newbie gear, spells, or whatever). I did find that all the storage was fairly useless, but I felt compelled to store it. I have only run through it once with a Vanquisher and retired her, so no telling how silly storage will get if I play it much more.

The one thing that was sort of amusing/annoying is the jewelery situation. I literally filled up that storage character. Then I decided to play around with enchanting... that sort of broke the game. Kinda depressing that it made 95% of my stored jewelry obsolete, but it did free up a bunch of room :P. I am sure the same would occur with other equipment items if enchanted over and over, but, except for my main weapon, I didn't find it necessary to enchant anything else to complete the main quest on Very Hard.

There's a mod that creates a whole bunch of storage chests in town (20, if I recall correctly). If you ever go back to playing Torchlight, I suggest you try that mod.
EDIT: Here's the mod.

Thank you, I might actually play it again, inventory management was sucking out what little joy remained in the game for me.
