Aningan: I think everyone wants to have a "Complete" edition of a game they like. Which is very hard with the amount of DLC that THQ chose to go with. You don't have to have OCD for that. Personally I think it's quite natural.
But what does that give you in actual value? It's like downloading all mods for Skyrim. It is pick and choose. DLCs of this kind are like "professional mods". You can choose to buy them, but you don't have to.
If you look at other gaming venues, like tabletop, nobody is going to buy
all GW models. You pick what you like. As long as the core game itself isn't cut to pieces because of this, I see no drawback. And with SR and the DoW/SM games, I didn't see any indication that they were.
In the end, cutting those DLCs means less to choose from for the customer.
