jgresham: I don't think there is much reason to be upset, and this isn't such a huge departure for HB. The last bundle I bought was HB for Android 4 - the pc versions of the games were Steam keys there too.
You also got DRM-free downloads for Windows, Mac and Linux, not just the Steam Keys.

Hah,
I wish they added Darksiders 2 or Warhammer, then it would be instant buy.

But no thanks, I rather enjoy boycotting Steam and feel like PC master race.

These five fantastic DRM-free games run great on Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux, and most come with soundtracks! Steam users can optionally redeem most of the games on Steam with a purchase of $1 or more, and Linux users can redeem most of the games in the Ubuntu Software Center!"

RickRoll'd by a bundle..... damn!... ;p
Hmm, THQ stock has gone up, wonder if its related :)

I can ALMOST break even by selling now.
already own all of the games, so not interested at all... but a great value
No EFF = no sale.

paul1290: I'm not quite sure what the problem is.

This wasn't really advertised as being "indie" or "DRM free" in the first place and the usual flow of "Humble Indie Bundles" isn't affected by this.

I'm not seeing much of a "con" here.

SirPrimalform: Who said this was a con? I'm disappointed that they haven't stuck to their guns.

DRM-free downloads was one of the big selling points of previous Humble Bundles (and the Humble name in general), hence this is a big disappointment.
All games sold in the humble store are still DRM free. The main difference between this and previous bundles is that the games do not appear in your account, i.e. they do not exist in the humble store.

Wishbone: No they weren't. Please don't spread misinformation.

You said "The PC versions were Steam codes". This is not true. What you should have said was "The PC versions included Steam codes, in addition to DRM-free installers". That would have been accurate. It wouldn't have helped your argument in any way, shape or form, but it would have been accurate.

Yes, but they still provided a DRM option, and required extra money for it - they didnt simply throw it in, it required a $1 donation. My point was merely that Humble bundle clearly didn't have an ideological issue with working with and providing games on Steam, so it is not a huge departure.

fortune_p_dawg: These are some great games and this really is an excellent deal.... just... I don't know... Bleh! Also, *makes dickheaded nasaly voice* STEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM! BLEH!

I'd buy Miasmata here first in a heartbeat, and that's what I think I'm going to do.

Then again, great games, amazing price....

Then again....

That's also not true. They sell Steam only games in the Humble Store and have for a while. I overlooked that... but not this. I should have seen it as a sign of things to come I suppose.

You're completely missing the point. They have been including Steam keys for ages, but until now they have always had a DRM-free option in their bundles. This bundle has no DRM-free option.

If you don't think that "Steam-exclusive" is a huge departure from "DRM-free, redeemable on Steam", then I don't think there is any point in discussing this further.
I also think that's the first bundle (at least from HIB) where the average is actually decreasing.
