I'll pay 1$ for these games.
I thought a lot about using Steam or not, and decided to use it as demo platform for GOG. To try games that are coming to GOG. And never pay more then 2$ for game. Anyway, it doesn't feel that I own a game, if I have it on Steam. But GOG feels good, and there will my money go.
What a slap in the face. Wish customers would slap back, but they won't. Might throw $1 to charity, but fuck THQ and fuck Humble.

Leroux: Dunno, I've got nothing against good deals, but why does it have to be Humble? Where's the connection? I never thought of them as a "help charity, get cheap games" company, but more along the lines of "we support indie developers and don't care for DRM politics". Maybe I was wrong, and maybe it's not even such a big deal, but it still kind of ruins the Humble Bundle's previous image and unique selling point for me
The good thing is, you can still split the money the way you see fit... so people can just give zero to both the publisher and the Humble Bundle guys, and maybe even let them know why they choose to do so.

Leroux: snip
Welcome to reality. They just want to earn money. Big package of awesome games = money.
I'm looking at this as Humble not sacrificing their stance. They're just helping out THQ with a sale. I know it goes against their motto and principles, but I guess the way of business is that things evolve.

I think this bundle is an anomaly, not a sign of changes coming to HIB.

I think I'll probably pitch a few bucks to the Red Cross and get the four games that interest me. If this bundle offered de-Steamified downloads, I would have jumped on it immediately, paid a higher price, and sent my money to THQ and Humble.

I don't necessarily begrudge Humble or THQ the right to run this promotion, and I'll evaluate the next Humble Bundle on its own merits as always, but a bundle of Steam keys doesn't warrant any generosity.

Darkcloud: Warning for all fellow Germans. The Saints Row 3 key does not work. Will report back if hotspot shield helps with that.
Thanks for sharing this.
Though it's already too late for me in my opinion it is Steam's fault not humblebumble's. I will sent my usual rant letters to Steam.

I had no game in my inventory and always waited for a better offer on Steam, now I got all of them in a bundle. So I'm really happy. Granted, DRM is a bitch but for that price I am not going to be picky.

Anyway, I'm quite happy with the offer and considering that now I have some gift codes and some nice game to trade or give away this is the most relaxing Christmas shoppingspree so far. I have a couple of relatives who can't read or speak English well enough to even know about the humble bundle so this is the perfect Christmas gift for them.

jgresham: I don't think there is much reason to be upset, and this isn't such a huge departure for HB. The last bundle I bought was HB for Android 4 - the pc versions of the games were Steam keys there too.
You remember wrong, the PC versions of the Android 4 bundle were also available as DRM-free installation files.

Awww, I became soft and decided to pay $5.50 for with this bundle, even if they are mere Steam keys. I was most interested in the Company of Heroes games actually.
I do so like numbers, they do not argue back. 2 hours in, and 83.5k bundles sold. The average have risen slightly to $5.22, making now a total of $433k. At this speed they will break a million in 3 more hours....

You can order it as a gift as many times as you want, I believe.

Ugh, Steam keys only. I would have paid quite a bit for a DRM-free copy of Saints Row The Third. Since I already own the games I'm interested in on Steam, I'm just going to chip in a couple of bucks for the soundtracks.
