Guess what I just did?

The actual purchase process was very slick and worked really fast. You can even avoid connecting the unique download page to your account (just like with the bundles). The account page is still a bit "beta" but that was to be expected.

And now for the true beauty. The game I bought was A Virus Named Tom. I noticed this today on the Steam start page and was just about to buy it. But I was currently in Sweden (my IP), so I didn't bother (can't buy outside Germany). Then, while looking at this thread I noticed that the game was also available on the HiB store. Bam, game bought.

Now, I've got the best deal for the devs, got a Steam key from the deal, downloading it through the Steam servers so that HiB doesn't have to cover the bandwidth. Be-au-ti-ful!
It is already perfect for people like me (as long as the thread keeps up to date). I usually notice indies on Steam and here I can buy them with pretty much only benefits. (Steam key, DRM free, most money to the devs, dollar prices). I love it!

Sure. I didn't mean to downplay its greatness, I'm just surprised it's treated as the big news all of a sudden, when the option to buy from the Humble Store has been around for more than a year already. Some posts here sound as if the official store was about to open with a big bang soon, and that's what I got excited over many months ago, too, but I couldn't find any new info on it. Anway, nothing wrong with giving it more exposure, I actually up-repped the OP for his effort to list all store items.

EDIT: Btw, let us know what you think of A Virus Named Tom, I'm mildly curious about it. :)

I bought it as well. Think of it as a mix between Pacman and the hacking segments of Bioshock (which are a lot like Pipe Dream). It has a neat, matrixy/comic-like style to it. The gameplay can be tough to wrap your head around at first, however. I could imagine many impatient gamers being put off immediately.

Yeah, I'm just stoked that it's all in one place now. With the addition of accounts, I finally have a place I can download my Overgrowth pre-order without worrying about remembering that damned key.

I love the Humble Store. I first bought from them (I think) back in last December-ish to buy Rnglish Country Tune. Everything went smoothly. They send you a key to your email address, just like a bundle, and you have all the bundle options such as claiming it to an account, and using BitTorrent. Can't wait until the storefront opens, as it's one of my favorite ways to buy games, and the current line-up is pretty stellar.

Cool, I just noticed they offer a standalone demo on their website, so I can see for myself whether I would like it and whether it's compatible with my rigs. Plus, they do have sales on Humble Store games already! Anyway, thanks for the quick review! :)

Soundtracks kick ass; it's the most requested bonus item on GOG. I'm kinda sad I got the Psychonauts soundtrack with the HB5, but didn't get it on GOG, because I really do like what GOG is trying to do, adding value to attempt to keep people from pirating. :( Still, to me this seems like a good push for GOG to 1) release indie titles more frequently / a bunch at a time and 2) remember their "roots" a little bit more. ;) (Asking for a "roots" return does not count as whining!)

Ah, excellent :) Someone has cross posted the list to the PC Gaming Wiki, which is probably a better place for it, as there's no character limit and anyone can add. Looks like they forgot Soulcaster I & II and Gratuitous Space Battles CE.

The most interesting part of the store to me is games on here would stand a decent chance of being in an upcoming humble bundle.

Rather than a store selling these games at full retail I'd much prefer waiting for Humble to just dish them out in packs in their dollar bundles.

You'll be waiting a while. Humble Bundles seem to happen every couple months, aren't certain to contain games you want and, judging by the last bundle, may actually not contain games at all, which just increases wait time.

Of course, if you are being sarcastic, then har har.

First, how do you know that all of these games are going to end up in bundles? A lot of these games are available only for Windows and therefore, not eligible to be bundled. Second of all, what's wrong with actually buying an indie game at full price? If the developer did a good job, and I felt like they deserved the asking price, I'll give it to them as support. Simple as that. Also, "dollar bundles"? I would never pay less than $7 for a bundle personally.
