tinyE: The only reason I know there are user reviews is because every few months someone makes a thread to complain about them :P

UniversalWolf: I'm not actually complaining about them. I'm just trying to find the best way to make use of them. They are what they are.

Instead of complaining I made a list of games I've actually bought and played, divided them into disappointments and surprising goodies, and then went back and read many of the reviews for each to see if there were any patterns. There were.

The test will be whether or not I can more accurately predict how much I'll like a game by using the reviews as I've theorized. But first I have to buy some more games. I'm sure it will happen sooner or later.
I was being a smartass. Seriously, if that came out like a slam on you I apologize.

Ha! No, not at all.

The same internet that makes you think you sounded harsh makes me seem like I could possibly be offended by what you said. It's strange like that.
Rule of thumb (works 90% of the time) for understanding the Average GOG review score.

5 star average = good to great game
4 star average = it's ok, especially if you're into the genre
3 star average = crap
2 star average = worst game ever wtf
1 star average = game worse than physically possible, universe collapses on itself if you even think of installing it
