Klumpen0815: Oh, the mighty King Underdeliver is pointing fingers, lol!
This almost made me laugh out loud, resulted in silent snickering
Bullfrog in his days made some amazing titles, but I think it's because he was under control by others who really did something and who controlled what was said about their projects. Nowadays, he only makes wild promises and fails to deliver anything really new or revolutionary, relying on his old successes to lure people to invest in him.
He should get his shit together or go into retirement while there's still time.
When I think about Peter Molyneux, the main topic of his games, his constant megalomania and overly excentric behaviour, I always have to think of this song:

RoloTony: It seems he doesn't have the self-awareness to know he should be the last person to complain about overpromising and under-delivering. Why else would he make such ironic statements?

ncameron: Hmm. This sounds so familiar. I'm sure there's someone else I've heard about recently with similar issues. Something about a space game which cut a promised feature...

I think David Braben must have graduated from the Peter Molyneux School of Lack Of Self Control.
Yeah, but Peter Molyneux has a longer history of doing these kinds of things. Not like it's a competition, but if it was, he would win/lose! ;)
I don't get the hate for this guy. His games may not be the best, but certainly nowhere near the worst, and depending on your tastes, they may even be potential favorites. He over promises and under delivers. Big deal! How many people in your real lives don't do that? Just stop listening to his BS. I did that years ago and it served well for the games I played from him since I went in with 0 expectations and they turned out to be decent and enjoyable.

its just that he promises you the moon
and what he delivers is pixie dust artificial pixiedust

fable was the most egreigous
the whoel would would change depending on your actions
characters would actuallyc hange their disposition based on what you did
and the in game world would span decades as it was molded by your actions

what fable turned out to be was a decent action rpg with almost zero of the promises delivered

fable 2 did it much better but it was still clumsily handeld and you had almost no way to interact with people
and other then a few set pieces the world didnt really dynamically changed

fable 3 is just dumbed down

I still don't see a reason for genuine hate. Simply ignore the guy and enjoy the games for what they are, not for what they were promised to be. Or am I missing the point of gaming? And I disagree as far as Fable TBC goes. If I was to make a top of the Fable games, TBC would easily be the best for me.

its a bit hard to ignore the promoses when the hype is based on thos epromises and the game is based on thos epromises
its not hard to feel dissapointed or betrayed after you handed over you money and get a bog standard action rpg with almost none fo the promised features

and if that happens once it would be easyto deal with
but he does it again
and again
and again

all hype no substance most peopel these days just ignore him because he doesnt deliver anymore

tbc ?

for me fable 2 is the strongest
fable 1 is slightly stronger then 3 but they are both weak leats said about adventures the better

But here's the problem. You know he's full of shit and yet you still fork full retail price for his promises. Whose fault is it really here? Definitely not him. And if anything, I'd say Molineux's promises are simply over enthusiasm compared to the lies corporate AAA companies puke to sell more copies of a game.
Again, I don't like the way he overly hypes his games, but I don't listen to it because I know better. And everyone should. This being said, when you compare him to the current market, he really is just like everyone else, but has a different motive behind his actions, thus I think the hate for him is more one of those mainstream things that "all the cool kids do", instead of being something genuinely warranted.

I enjoyed Fable 3 for the nieche RPG that it was, though it certainly casualized Fable 2.

Ah, but this is what I call a fool's errand! It is exactly what I'm talking about. Whose fault is it when they should know better?
