I love the last paragraph in particular
It was the second time in 17 months that a Kansas City funeral home returned a homicide victim's body mistakenly ruled a natural death by the medical examiner's office.
Someone needs to fire the entire staff and hire people capable of doing the job correctly.
Wha!? The first victim was beaten and sexually assaulted, yet they somehow determined she died of natural causes!? If I ever have a need to kill someone, remind me to do it in Kansas City.
"Natural Causes? But he's been chaiinsawed in half and set on fire!"
"No, he was obviously rehersing a variety act where he was juggling chainsaws and molotov cocktails whilst riding a unicycle. Put out an APB on a unicycle!"
Oh wow. And how many other this has this happened.
While in grad school I taught a semester of organic chemistry for non-majors, a class where about 90% of the people taking it were looking to go into a medical field. After teaching that class, hearing about medical examiners missing things like this actually doesn't surprise me at all.
Maybe being a serial killer in Kansas isn't a bad profession after all.
