This guy makes grabbing a gun and shooting someone look civilized.

Usually, you hear of crap like this in the Middle East or Far East, but Russia is getting a bit too close for comfort.

I'd hate for familiar visible figures (popular artists, politicians, news anchors, etc) to get their maimed with acid.

Things like: Blockbuster movie X will be delayed several months and go over budget, because a morally challenged dissatisfied individual splashed the lead actor's face with acid for reason y.

What probably happened:
dude turned down some ballerina for a lead role
her Mafya boyfriend flings acid in dude's face
Russia's crime culture has been out of control since the "wild 90s"

Does Justin Bieber count??

Yes. No throwing acid on people.
Not to be joking because that really is horrific but if I may...

It's not so bad. It's not like figure skaters are running around getting their estranged husbands to hire hit men to break the legs of their competition. When that sort of thing starts to happen THEN I'll start to worry.

End of joke back to serious.
In the U.S. it seems like acid has also become popular with stalkers and estranged lovers. Jesus, whatever happened to good old obscene phone calls and rabbit boiling?
A terrible and coward attack, it's a real shame... -_-
The perp threw acid into his face, too bad he wasn't dyslectic and threw acid into his base.

Da-dum-psssh

Ha ha ha

I'm a terrible person :(

Ours too, but the worst that usually happens in terms of physical violence are criminals shooting each other (politicians and public officials getting coerced to funnel public resources to the mob through threat of physical harm is a far greater problem).

Throwing acid at someone falls into an entirely new category of messed up.

I don't know where all the Bieber hate comes from.

He provides a valuable service by entertaining a particular demographic (teenage girls).

Just because I'm outside of his target demographic doesn't mean I can't indirectly appreciate what he means to them.
Throwing acid at someone seems familiar. Hmm. Oh yeas in my country there are at leas 2 cases of thrown acid to journalists to either silence them or kill them. Those are that I know of. Those kind of thing really are not so good as apparently someone is not happy X got a role and wants Y to take it. It's just the stupidity in people we hear these days.

And have heard about: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/video/mayhem-man-takes-aim-leader-144531991.html
Apart from being hilarious and well coordinated stunt is a well placed political move from him.
I'll throw some acid at you face. YELLOW ACID.

...I've been playing Postal.

As much as it sickens me (a metal head) to say this, I have to agree on the Bieber hatred thing; he is a pretty silly and stupid person to direct any malice toward. It would worry me more if I honestly thought he might somehow have a lasting impression on the legacy of music but when I was in high school I was worried about the same thing happening with NKOTB, and what happened there? They became a joke, used as cannon fodder by the very masses who claimed to worship them not so long ago. Fact is, since the beginning of time, people have had their shallow bubble gum "teen idols" of some sort or another and just like since the beginning of time they will continue to have them, and in due order they will continue to vanish from signifigance with no harm done. I give you Leif Garret, David Cassidy, NKOTB (previously mentioned), Donny Osmond, Tiffany, Debi Gibson (though I must say that she honestly gets more beautiful with age and I actually dig all the bad sci-fi moster movies she makes now), NSync, the list goed on and on.

Okay, how is that for off topic! Thank you! Like I always say, "Step by Step, one way or another..."

I agree. If the bastard had any balls, he would've shot him in the head....

This is another reason why being famous sucks. And it shocks me that there are people out there, who make grabbing a gun and shooting someone look civilized.

The U.S. Army does it all the time. The making shooting someone look civilized part, not the acid chucking.
