Some great guesses, and you guys are definitely on the right track. But no one has hit the combo yet.

As clarification, there is no need to add or subtract letters. One letter simply needs to be changed from the original word to form the new word.

Hints:

The words are three syllables long.

There are five vowels in the orignal word and there may or may not be five in the second.
