Far out. Maybe I'll mention it somewhere around here at some other time. For now I'll leave the forum open to the sport that the other 99.99% of the planet watches. Thanks.
Funny thing is, I was a halfway decent sweeper in highschool.

tinyE: I call what I watch football. I believe you call it "American BuLLSH&T".
No, I believe we call it a creative use of language.

gameon: There is a noticeable difference in pace and quality from the top European leagues, but it's not bad football by any means.
This is true. I had seen a lot of European games on TV and believed that. Then, on a trip to the UK, I stayed in York. So, I caught a couple of York City matches in person and was surprised that even they seemed to have more pace and quality than some of the average MLS teams.

Thank you Homer for a very generous giveaway.
Football, my bane and my joy!

I used to lose many hours and nerves to football; I can not come up with another sport in which referees have such a heavy influence on the final result.

I think this is why some players find it so hard to make the transition from European to UK Premier league football. It's a really physical game in the UK, it's fast and aggressive. The teams on the continent prove that they can compete with this by virtue of the fact they beat UK teams in the european competitions. However it is different football.

I have played football on grass, and in a slower paced game skills/passing is great. That's how i like football. Unfortunately i have played on an artificial pitch with a group of bleep test style players, who ran at breakneck speed from one end to the other non stop. I hated that. It was extremely tiring, and hoof ball. No skill what-so-ever.
I'm a huge soccer fan!

I love the USMNT team and a big MLS fan, RSL is my favorite team, but it is the off-season for MLS right now.

In England I really like Everton (Timmy Howard)

They are currently in 5th place out of 20 in the English Premier League.
