I'm glad someone in the gaming press is publicly calling out developers for this kind of game design. It surprises me that so many people are willing to put up with it.
And this is why I like RPS. More coverage of titles that most would overlook and telling it how it is. I don't always agree with them, but at least they're honest.
I was all set to buy it until i discovered the length of the single player campaign. I haven't the patience for multiplayer shooty stuff (except my much missed left4dead) so the campaign was my only reason for purchase. Four or five hours gameplay is just not acceptable to me at 40 quid.
So it looks like I was right afterall
