I happen to be a fan of the cable show Spartacus and its sequels. I found a site online that was selling spartacus trading cards and I went ahead and ordered what was supposed to be a box of 15 packs with a chance to get a rare autograph card for about $40.00 plus shipping. It turns out that I should have researched this a little more before placing my order.

The reality is that the website I ordered from had the listing a little messed up. It turns out that the item desctiption was correct (a 15 pack box 9 cards per pack) but the price was for a single pack! I recieved my order today and yes my big envelope had a single pack of 9 cards in it. I checked the manufacturers website (scifihobby.com) and it turns out that the 15 pack box I thought I was purchasing for $40.00 turns out to retail for $750.00 per box and $50.00 per pack. Yes you do get 2 autograph cards per pack but damn! Of course the only way to get the really limited autograph cards (lucy lawless, john hannah) is to buy boxes or pay big aftermarket markups on ebay.
I called the company and complained before I researched and realized the mistake was on their end but I don't expect to hear anything back from them. I used to think magic the gathering cards were expensive. My favorite hobbies are getting expensive. Thank god for GOG and my love of old pc games, it is turning out to be the least expensive of my hobbies.
On a plus side it probably won't be much of an issue to sell them back online to make up some of the cost, if you're willing to that is.
No i didnt lose any money, they had the 750 box listed as only 40 which is what I paid and why they only sent me one pack.

Well, under German law you could now send it simply back (with the cards unopened, of course) in the next 14 days and get your money back. And since it would have been a mistake on their end, they would have to pay for shipping etc. as well.
Technically I did get a bargain because I only paid 40.00 for something that retails for 50.00. What bothers me is that even though I complained they still have not changed the false product listing

Well, then it is fraud. Commercial fraud.
I've played a hand or two of MTG and MTGO(alright ffs thousands) myself, but that is fucking ridiculous. I thought this thread was about MTG when I saw it LOL That really sucks. At least you got 10 off.

More off now by the looks of it.
