First of all: Good morning people of this forum! I've been around here for quite a while (931 days to be specific) but so far you guys seemed to be doing alright without me posting so I haven't. Just now I've decided to do so anyway, so, ah, here I am!
Just like for probably quite a few people around here my personal golden age of gaming was around the mid-late 90's. Since then I've fallen behind the curve more and more mostly due to not having a capable desktop and maybe a bit because of more "classic" game design preferences. That said, my ancient laptop died last week and I finally decided to build my first gaming PC in over a decade. Happy to say I managed to put it together without problems yesterday and boy is that thing snappy compared to what I'm used to. I might even finally be able to play some of them AAA games people are talking about on the streets!
Which brings me to my questions, both regarding DRM and other crap that might infect my pristine new PC.
1 .Steamworks seems to be one of the better DRM options out there. I know not every game on Steam uses Steamworks, but does any game on Steam use any other form of DRM on top of that?
2. What about all these F2P games? Is there any way to see whether or not it's possible to remove them completely once I'm done with them or if they crap all over my system? Maybe a website that keeps track of stuff like that?
