DICE is delaying the PC version of Battlefield 1943. Again. First back to September (so it wasn't going to be out alongside the console versions), then to Q1 2010. Sheesh. I really wanted to play this, being a BF 1942 fan and all, but it looks like it's just not happening for a while.

I'm sure it's because they need more time to fix the network issue that "feels like lag, but isn't" :p

Meh. It's been dumbed down anyway. I think I'll just go back to playing Forgotten Hope or Eve of Destruction
Although I have to say, Galactic Conquest was perhaps the best mod ever made for BF1942. I used to play it on US servers, and my ping was above 200, so the experience was choppy, but it was by far the most engaging, most satisfying multiplayer experience I've ever had in an online game.

Got a source on that?
"According to the game's producer Gordon Van Dyke the game will now be released sometime in the first quarter of 2010 for the PC. He states, "This was a hard pill to swallow, but it was absolutely needed to ensure the features and functionality that PC players have come to expect from Battlefield on PC are not missing. Things like support for DirectX 9 and 10, higher player count (up to 32-player matches), wide peripheral support i.e. Joysticks for flying, VoIP, and ranked server provider hosting."

I think he was referring to the fact that the console versions only have 3 classes, unlimited ammo, and regenerating health.
So you're complaining that there's a chance that PC gamers won't get the same mangled, horrible mess the consoles have been burdened with? This is a Dice game. They're not famed for releasing finished games. If they want to work on it a bit longer then you should be more than happy to let them.

LOL
You're kidding, right?! That's not dumbed down. That's in a vegetative state. Are they trying to appeal to turnips, now that they've conquered the retard market?

The file size on the game is tiny. Which probably explains the 3 classes.
As sad as it sounds, it really is a fun game, if not a tad unbalanced. Rifle-grenades are severely OP.
Also on that note, I didn't know they HAD rifle-grenades back then. Yay for BF1943 history lessons.

Indeed I was, thanks for clarifying. I don't know if the PC version is any different. I gave up any hopes of the game ever since the (console version of the) game was announced to have all of Halo's unique features, plus even more retardation like no proning.
