This was already posted in the HOMM subforum but I feel that this needs to be posted in the General forum as well since this is a pretty cool and free game :)

I'm playing this game right now, have been playing for around a week

It's probably one of the best browser games out there right now, right next to the Witcher VS

Of course if you buy a subscription things go faster but with a free account it's almost the same

Many things were added and fixed, the concept is very cool and its pretty awesome

Of course, the game IS very slow, it takes hours for something to build, it usually takes around 30 min for a battle, so overall this game takes very little of your time daily and if you log in for 10-20 min a day that is more than enough, its pretty addictive as well

Other GOG members are more than welcome to Create new kingdoms close to my Town and start the game close to me, my town is called Revelos and if you start I will try to help you with what I can, of course GOG members are welcome to form alliances as well :)

Here is the referral direct link, if you start a game through this link you will recieve a bonus

Hope this helps for newcomers, see you guys online! :)
I've played this during the beta, and my wife has been playing ever since.

The game is pretty good if you like the genre, but it's not free. After a few weeks at most, the restrictions of a free account become unbearable. This leads to free players being excluded from many alliances, and serving as cannon fodder for the paid players. It's still possible to have fun for free, but don't expect to play on par with players who use their wallet.

That being said, the game is well worth a (free) try if you like HOMM and/or turn-based strategy games.
startet... don't know where I am at the moment... still in the tutorial :)

Awesome, you created a kingdom close to mine and got really lucky with the Dwarven treasury, send you a message in game :)
I'm playing for free right now with a bunch of uni mates, it's pretty entertaining.
One of my friends is being chased by the server's top dog though :(
There is a dwarfen treasury?? need to have a closer look to the game when I am back home tonight :)
My favorite Romance of the Three Kingdoms is the online browser release.

Problem is it's open game for other online players to attack you and the only way to keep yourself protected from said attacks is quickly building and training.

The only way to quickly build and train is to use your credit card to purchase in game gold.

I immediately stopped playing because I was too poor, in real life, to keep my city protected.

HOMM Kingdoms might be for you then. With a free account and some good allies, you can perform quite decently. In combat, there is a strong bias toward defense, so you can keep you cities protected if you play well and get some help. Offense is a bit harder, so don't expect to win the server with a free account, unless you get enlisted in one of the strongest alliances.
I've been playing this since shortly after it was released for North America, the alliance I joined won the Zombie Assembly server and we currently have an alliance on The Ravaged Lands 2 that is leading by 120 000 points...i think I'll stick with them.
