Mentalepsy: snip
You don't have to use any real money. You can just do sweating at the beginning. It's tedious, but costs nothing. I never put a dime in it when I played...
anyone got any first hand info on the PvP side of age of conan and SW:TOR?

Are there PvP only zones or is it a kill on site thing for people

the ftp is just a trial from what i am reading, is that correct?
You can level all the way on the FTP model.

There are limitations ( as per the link below)

I cant really comment as to whether they cripple the game for you though. (as I sub)

Plenty to do besides the usual adventuring...there's diplomacy (card based game) and the crafting is very involved.

and a link to the Official Forums (it is a new revamped forum....there is a link to the old forum at the bottom where you can find some FTP topics)

Hope this helps

thanks, ill look into that
Planetside 2?
I'm rather shocked nobody considered Guild Wars 2 by now. Yes you'd have to buy the game, but from there it's ftp forever.
You can solo to max lvl (currently 80) with just the last part of the personal storyline being group-only or go with a guild, drop in / drop out anytime dynamic event-system, PvP maps....
which is better:Planetside 2 or Tribes:Ascend?

sounds good will look into it
I've heard good things about The Secret World.

Haven't played it though.

Oh and I played Fallen Earth quite some time ago (maybe 2 years?) and back then I really felt that it was rubbish. I didn't get into it though, so who knows, maybe you will?

What about D2 LoD, if charms don't annoy you?

Or Starcraft Broodwar on iccup.com.

MMO is not a reasonable term any way. Massively equals often. Choosing the multiplayer mode is up to the user.

IL-2 for air battles.

GW 1 has marginally higher user scores.
Puzzle Pirates (On Steam as well)- If you like puzzles, it is fairly fun. There is a lot of mature players, despite how it may look. Has a political/ economical system in place. Almost everything is made by players, who run shops and hire workers. Ships are run with crews on them, and you compete in turn based combat against other players and AI. With guilds you can take over islands, and even place buildings/design the layout.

Imagine Online - More for fans of Shin Megami Tensei series. It is pretty much like a darker version of Pokemon, you befriend a magnitude of demons to fight along side you and go through the story mode. Can play alone, since dungeons are instance based, but it is more fun with some friends.

Rusty Hearts (On Steam as well) - Side scrolling beat-em up mmo. Can be played with a controller and is fairly fun when you do so. I prefer Dungeon Fighter over it, but since you're not in the NA region, you're kind of out of luck, but it is still a good and rather new (for English speakers) game, getting constant updates and new content released.

Salem - spiritual successor to Haven and Hearth. Survival type game set in the colonial era where perma-death exists and so do small knit communities. You're pretty much put into the world and you need to fend to survive. You can claim land, build a settlement, or even join an existing community and help them thrive. It is in it's beta stages, but you can find a key on several sites.
