I saw this today and was saddened.
http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/218323/top-story-catherine-may-not-be-coming-to-america/

Anyone who wants catherine in america needs to do somethings.

1- Email atlus atleast once a week and tell them RESPECTFULLY using PROPER grammar that you really want the game and plan on purchasing it. If your cell has long free long distance it wouldnt hurt to call them as well and let them know once a week. Hell even if 2,000 people in america did that that adds up to a lot, when your getting 2,000 emails and phone calls a week saying you want the game then they have to pay attention to that and the more people doing it the faster we get the game. Just please be mature when contacting them.

This is there contact page
http://www.atlus.com/contactus.php

2- Go on the atlus forums and post that you really want catherine released in your country.

Forums for atlus.
http://www.atlus.com/forum/index.php

3- Encourage others on other game forums you visit, hell any forum by resposting contact info and stuff on there as well, post it on your blog, send your friends a email via xbox live, start emailing video game websites new reporting emails at kotaku or whatever.

4- Stay persistant. If you just send a couple emails and give up then chances are everyone else will also. Atlus wont want to miss a chance to make money but they need to see the american market really wants this game, they want something different, then want to broaden their horizons for games and they want atlus to do that for them.

I know its easy to say "Well, there are a lot of other people I dont need to do anything because they will take care of it" well if you do that then nothing will get done because I guarntee you a lot of others are doing the same thing and if everyone does it then atlus wont ever release the game in america.

If your tired of having all the same games and wanting something different and new, if you want a new take on what a mature game is then we need to let atlus know as best we can.

So come on guys, chip in and lets all make atlus aware that we want catherine in america and we dont want it censored or changed.

Atlus don't have a UK arm so I can't really tell them that I want them to bring it to my country...

Too late for that. Apparently the JPN version is being changed as it's too hard. Still, I wish you luck, Japanese companies are not known for changing their minds so easily.
Atlus don't exist as far as I'm concerned. Have very little respect for the company at all since they don't seem to localize anything for the UK (or take a year to do so). NIS are better, but only just.

They don't have the money for a UK/EU branch, bro - that's why they use different publishers for their games in the UK (Squeenix, KOEI). They even said they feel pretty bad about it, but they can't do anything else for now.

Dude, they don't exist in the UK. The Trauma Centre and Etrian Odyssey games that have come out were published by Nintendo. It's Nintendo's fault we don't have TC 2 and EO II or III.
I wouldn't really worry about Catherine's chances of getting a U.S. release--"there are no plans at this time" is often PR-speak for "we aren't ready to announce it yet."

Plus, members of the Atlus Faithful recently received this kinda creepy email, which seems likely to be a Catherine tease. I'd say chances are good.

Quoted for truth.

This also happened with The Last Story a week or so before it was out in Japan. Publishers can't just say if they're localizing stuff or not before a game is even out in its native country or has been out for only a week.
Besides which, Atlus apparently, don't have a lot of money. So it's not an easy task to just say "Hey! Let's localise this!" as it's a very costly and time intensive task dependent on several factors.

Of course, even if they do localise the game, there's no certainty it will get a release. Such as happened to GiFTPiA (most likely due to its content).
I would also like to remind people that the original source for all these "Catherine will not come to the US" rumors was a site called BeefJack. All the other reports were sites just linking to the BeefJack article.

Now tell me: What the hell is "BeefJack," how many of you have ever heard of this site, and why should we consider it a legitimate source of information, exactly? Plus Atlus did apparently come out and say that the BeefJack thing was a bit of an exaggeration; the reality is that they don't CURRENTLY have plans to release Catherine outside of Japan, which as someone else in this topic pointed out usually means that they are still considering the possibility or otherwise aren't ready to discuss it yet to the public since it is too early.

Not that I know of. The localised version only ever got used at one of the US trade shows and the public never had access to it.

Which I must say, is a real shame. GiFTPiA is the sole reason I bought my Gamecube. Fucking excellent "alternative" RPG. It had a sort of follow up in Captain Rainbow, but that one pretty much bombed =/

Well, I was expecting Atlus to stretch this out a bit longer.

Not that I'm complaining, mind.
Good. Vincent's already got a cameo in Persona 3 Portable. I'm glad we get to see him in his own game.
I think it's safe to assume this is coming to the US anyway. It's in for rating with the ESRB and they just did a 'US debut' trailer at GDC.

EDIT: Already covered, I see. I did a search for 'catherine' which didn't display all the posts in the thread. :)
