Also, fuck Destructoid for bringing the Metacritic score down. Their reviews have always been slanted toward a negative view, and I hate them for it. Their score for Assassin's Creed II was just so they could make judgement on the alleged crooked offer Ubisoft off, and they're just rating the game low to appear "edgy". "I am so cool because I don't like a game that everyone else does."

They gave Dante's Inferno a 90. Nuff said.

I don't know, but based on the various review/preview/etc... I read/watched about this game I can't help but still think the game is just some Fahrenheit "next gen" edition.
Yes,you have tons of choice and possibilities but if you play the game more than one you discover that 99% of the times all those choices had very little to no impact at all on the story... and appart that there is very little real "gaming" involved...
Then again maybe it's just an impression and the game is actually much better, but it's not the impression I get from the reviews.

Metacritic uses a weighted average. The more reliable the source, the more weight it carries. I doubt anyone takes Destructoid seriously.

Kick ass, another AAA PS3 exclusive. The mature angle that David Cage used for this game is a breath of fresh air in this industry dominated by lowest common denominator FPS crap. Can't wait to play this! Loved Indigo Prophecy, and this looks even better, and a lot more polished.

Jim Sterling is one of the worst game review writers on the web. He weighs his reviews way too much on his personal tastes instead of trying to write them objectively. Also, the man himself can't take criticism. Even people who respond with valid complaints get immediately shot down by him.
Destructoid is the Fox News of gaming sites. The only people who take it seriously are crazy, overly-zealous nuts.

I don't read Destructoid in general, but I have to say I found that review pretty well written and balanced overall. And the points it brings up shouldn't be surprising to anyone who's played Fahrenheit.

As a two and a half year member of that site, I'd have to agree. I used to love the site, simply due to the diverse community and the wealth of great community members. It was incredibly refreshing and fantastic to witness such a blog movement and Dtoid brought something genuinely new to gaming sites. Now I rarely visit the site and it has descended into nasty fanboy territory. It is sad, nothing that good could sustain itself forever. I can't put my finger on it, but the culture of complaining has soaked that site and the community has turned into something nasty.
The supposed cult of Jim sterling fans is disturbing, anyone who just questions Jim gets ripped apart in a hail of abuse, not by him, but by the community, as evident in the Heavy rain comment section. I personally don't like his style or the man himself, but his reviews I can agree with, and usually do, the reviews are one of the good things left on the site.
IMHO, the reviews are fair and I do agree with then after I play the game in question.
It's a damn same that the site, whilst still retaining some great features, has fallen off my radar and I barely visit it due a continually worsening community.

Speaking of that moron prat Jim Sterling, anyone see that indie games article he wrote? He can go fall off a cliff because he's a worthless piece of shit that can't even be considered a games journalist. Everything he writes and anything other writers post is complete BS and nobody should take anything they write seriously.
Anyway, Heavy Rain. Judging by the reviews given by more competent publications, this is a must play.

Never trust reviews of something thats trying to be different, half the time reviewers will praise it for being different and gloss over the fact its actually shit underneath the differences and the other half of the time the reviewers will be scared and say it sucks because the trigger didn't shoot when they pulled it and their tiny monkeybrain gets all hot and confused.
