I think LED is the way to go, but I wouldn't pay a lot for it. One thing I can tell you from going to the school of hard knocks on the subject. Stay away from Vizio. Either the main board or tcon board is messed up and can cause bursts of stuttering during high movement scenes in film movies. (Live sports or news is fine). I would say it was a tv defect but I had almost every board of my HDTV replaced and the thing still has a problem. After that I vowed never to pay over 400 for a 47inch tv.

No guys Plasma is way better than LED TV's. Go to a store and compare with a LED side by side. You will be amazed. Here is the review of mine:
