For those of you who do not know Chris Crawford was a major game designer of the 70's 80's and early 90's. He gave a lecture at the GDC (Game Developers Conference) in 1992 about computer gaming as art and the gaming industry. It is very interesting (though it might be a little academic for some people's tastes). Also to put things into context since the video does not have the intro, but the "dragon" is his metaphor for using gaming to create art. Also keep in mind that this speech was how he announced he was leaving the gaming industry.
You can see it on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_04PLBdhqZ4
it is in 5 parts and all are on You Tube.
If you have time for an interesting speech about gaming, take a look at it and let me know what you think. (be warned he is a little eccentric in the speech)
(I loved the part about hardcore gamers complaining, it made me laugh. Oh and I think you can see Sid Meier the crowd at the end)
