you got a game here on GOG that you just can't finish it,too hard;not your kind of game;didn't lived up to the expectations.
then one day you said,"screw it,I paid money on this and I'm not going to give up until I play this sucker start to finish"
this just happened with me on Icewind Dale.didn't finish it because I hit a spot that I feel that most of the enemies seem to be just magic users(and on ADnD,magic users are invinceble on higher levels)but now,I've just finished the sucker.

outside of gog I've certainly experienced exactly what you are describing a couple of times. Here on gog it happened once with arcanum, only for me to quit again. If it happens again it will either be : Volgarr or Desperados (although I doubt that it will be the former - got far-ish though, up to some flying ships)

That happened but not here. When I first got back into gaming and was learning about RTS I snagged one of the C&C Boxes on Amazon without knowing anything about the genre. I got it, installed them all, tried them, screamed, uninstalled them, and put I those bastards on a shelf where they sat for TWO YEARS!!!!

One day I broke down and reinstalled them.

I mopped up on all of them!

I still play them constantly.

When I was younger it used to go like this: the more money I payed, the more stubbornly I'd try to finish the game. This explains why I finished Daggerfall which I bought for more than 100 USD but never finished Wizardry 7 which I borrowed from a friend for free.
Strategy and FPS games I generally had to finish because of ego. But there's quite a few adventure games I've never finished, even got stuck early on in some of those. There is nothing more frustrating than getting stuck in a point and click adventure game, makes you feel stupid. If you have trouble with a strategy game it's no biggie, if it takes you twice as long to beat a mission than other people so what? But in those adventure games you can get stuck 100%, beating those is like finding that tiny hole in the Death Star where you can drop in a torpedo.

Nowadays I abandon ship quickly if I'm not having fun. Bruce Lee put it nicely: "If you have to fight, you've already lost".
I've got enough struggles in real life, no reason to add virtual ones.

The game Black for PS2 is the only straight example I can readily recall. I usually have the problem of no matter how much I like a game I usually have a hard time inspiring myself to play from start to finish.

I used to do my best to complete every game but i have more and more games i get these days that i dont finish. Most of the time due to losing interest.

Wearing lipstick isn't a bad idea if you're following Sun Tzu's advice to appear weak when you are strong and appear strong when you are weak. On the other hand, you're more likely to get attacked if you wear lipstick so I'd say let's stick with the Bruce Lee tactic i.e. put on a game face and invite the other person to fight on 'that little island over there' and then push the boat off into the ocean with you not on it.

No because time is money. So why waste more money? Best thing to do, is uninstall the game, remove it from your shelf and move on to another game. Yes, most of the enemies in IWD are magic users so that is why every time I play IWD, I use archers, archers and archers. By the time, a magic user is trying to cast a spell, he or she already has 50 arrows in his or her heart. All who oppose me in IWD, die like Boromir from the Lord Of The Rings movies.
