Not me personally but a friend was sent home from our overseas volunteer program for bad-mouthing the host country on her public Facebook wall. Pretty dumb on her part to make it public though.

hedwards: Indeed. Part of the point of HR is to disqualify as many of the possibilities as quickly as possible. The only problem is that the HR department tends to be stocked with people that are completely unqualified for productive work in society.
The term "human resources" already gives me the shivers. I know it's common nowadays but I find it's nearly as horrible as the German word "Menschenmaterial" (human material) that was IIRC used in WWs 1 and 2 (with origins in the 19th century, i.e. Marx). Just like "collateral damage" for killing innocent bystanders. No wonder HR departments attract sociopathic people with an inferiority complex.
Nope. On FB I don't use my real name or birth date, and the email address associated with it is no longer in existence. And I have it set to private. I also don't post any identifying photos. They can look all they want but they won't get anything.
