TCMU2009: Okay so how do I set the new drive to be the active C: drive that boots the computer? I know you go to disk management under control panel, but I'm not sure where to go from there.
GameRager: If you only have one drive & only one partition on that drive(Which should be how things will be for you once you clone/copy the old HDD onto the new one, ditch the old drive and plug the new drive into the old drive's sata port on the mobo.) then it will automatically(usually) be set as c: upon booting the system if you did everything else correctly.
Thanks. Hopefully it will work out that way. If it doesn't, I'll let you know.
I don't think I got an answer to my optical drive question. Do I just unplug it from the motherboard while transferring hard drives?
