A Happy Winter Solstice to all in the Northern Hemisphere. The shortest day of the year.
Began a few hours ago. Each day more sun. Happy Days :)

And a Happy Summer Solstice to the Southern Hemisphere :)
(thanks for the correction te_lanus)

Is most defiantly the shortest day of the year. Longest night. i've observed it firsthand for decades, but science also agrees ;-p

lol yep. i've known it, our planets relation to our Sun. But it totally slipped my mind. WOW. i blame no sleep last night, followed by a frosty adventure outdoors at 5'ish AM. Hard to imagine summer, here in the middle of winter.. i guess ;-p
15-20 cm of snow and 30-40 km/h winds... yep it's definitely winter now.

Every time I look outside and the blizzard raging around me and think "Wow, it's pretty crazy here." someone from either Canada or Norway chimes in to remind me that comparitivly it actually looks more like Malibu where I live.

I'm "suppose" to get ten inches today which I doubt. BUT the 50 MPH winds coming off the lake are sure tearing the hell out of everything.
