Well, nice wishes are always great. To me, nothing's better than enjoying a nice, peaceful Christmastime with the family. I do hope it snows here, though; We don't get enough for my tastes, and I've always been a decidedly cold-favoring person.
In turn, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. Oh, and have a good Festivus. ^_^
That said, I do remember one present standing out, high on the shoulders of the rest. It was 1998, I believe, and all i wanted was a Nintendo 64. No, that's not it...but close. So, anyway, they were really hard to find that year, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting one. I was hoping, of course...=) Regardless, knowing me, my parents had secured one as I wiled away the hours tense and fearful. Needless to say, Christmas morning, I was exuberant and joyous at the moment of unwrapping. No, I wasn't filmed...luckily, I didn't become a meme. Moments later, I was handed another wrapped package. Smallish. I was puzzled, but when I opened it it glowed like the fire of the sun.
It was light, glinting off my copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Not just any copy, either; It was a Collector's Edition, a pre-order exclusive. Best of all, I was careful to watch, and around the time it had come out, we had made no pre-orders. The story goes, my mother went all over town (a few towns, actually) searching for a copy, knowing it would make me happy. She couldn't find one until finally, a quarter of a state away, the salesman presented her with just one...a pre-order carelessly left behind and forgotten about for a few weeks, at the ready. It was the greatest day of my childhood life.
