Happy Fourth of July to all fellow GOGers who celebrate it!

It's not perfect, but it's home. Happy Independence Day! Happy holiday to you and yours!

Today I'm going to the gym and then heading out to see fireworks in the evening. I'm also planning going getting hammered off of whiskey that I'm bringing to the event regardless of rules by stashing it in a glass Coke bottle.

By the way, I've always wondered why people say "Fourth of July" instead of "Independence Day" or "American Independence Day." People don't refer to Christmas as "25th of December" or New Years Day as "First of January."

I would assume it's because the 4th of July is only celebrated in America while Christmas and New Years are celebrated world wide. Many countries have their own Independence Day so we distinguish ours by saying "Happy July 4th"

happy 4th! Today's events will include barbequing and fireworks. You couldn't ask for a more perfect day outside either :)

TIL: Heroin is an opiate processed from morphine. On the street it is sold as white or brown powder, normally bought in small bags (like a packet of Sweet n Low) with drug dealers mixing the drug with quinine, sugar, other drugs, you never really know. The risk of overdose is high as one never really knows the overall strength of the drug .

I'll be working since our department is one that doesn't get holiday's off. But since those department's that do, did all their work yesterday, it should be a pretty smooth and uneventful day.
