Yeah, this is a real problem at the moment in GW2. The main storyline is a bear to finish (difficulty wanders all over the place, etc), and they've started pumping out new storylines every few weeks. There's no time to get invested anymore, so I've stopped caring. RL has gotten very hectic lately and I don't have time to play, but I honestly don't care because I'm not invested in any of the stories or characters anymore. The constant content churn just makes me irritated and is so obviously a treadmill. but i don't care about anything i cannot finish so i don't want to waste time with MMO's
It's too bad, because the stories and characters are actually interesting, but there's too many of them too close together. I was honestly fine with the story that went for 3 months. But ANet seems to be big fans of quickly moving stories (they once had an update that was crammed into a weekend!) and that just doesn't work for me.
