Which version is better? Which version should i get?
The PC version is hard to run from what I hear.

Probably the console version. The PC version was a horrible botch job. BUT there have been some excellent mods released for it. I only have the retail version, so I really haven't bothered much with the game recently. Maybe the performance problems have been resolved.
360 version is apparently the best. I didn't play the console versions and I was unreliably informed that the PC visuals were far superior. I played the PS3 version recently and I was astonished just how little difference there was, which makes the performance problems of the PC version all the more sad.

They haven't. At least not entirely.

GTA IV's pretty good on PC if you have the horsepower for it. The LCPD: First Responders mod is a must have and right now Steam is selling GTA IV Complete for $7.49 for the next 9 hours as part of Midweek Madness.
PC version has this

There are mods on the PC for GTAIV that make it look better than GTAV

If you have a monster of a machine (and I do mean monstersuperawesomepimpedout machine) , then it's worth going for the PC version

If you have a high spec pc get that one, it's a beautiful game. If you don't just get the console version. The game runs fine it's just people don't have good enough computers for it run smoothly.

Also on GamersGate. I have a pretty good PC. I bought GTA IV Complete from GamesGate.
PC version technically looks better glitching aside, but you have to jump through too many hoops and it's so poorly optimized that it's really not worth it. PS3 version is the worst, with a blurry upscaled 630p resolution.

If you want to pay for it, I'd recommend just getting the Xbox episodes from liberty city combo pack.

GTA IV is a picky game that you have to get lucky with. Some people have monster machines and it still doesn't work while others can get it working just fine.

I had a lot more fun with the PC version, especially with mods.
If you do decide to buy it from steam, you should know that at the moment they don't have any keys for the game, so you'll have to wait until they get more keys from Rockstar which probably will be at the end of the sale, I guess. Maybe a day after the sale, who knows.

Oh, and apparently quite the number of people who did manage to get the codes, before steam's vault was emptied, have trouble activating them. So it'll probably be iffy to get it running + the waiting for whenever Steam gets more keys.

Anyway, thought you should know.

Thanks for the info and thanks everyone for helping! I bought the game from GamersGate.
