It's up on the 360 marketplacefor those interested. Costs a whopping 1600 MS points which I thought was a bit of a ripoff but then i saw the file size: 2 fucking GIG! 2GB for DLC has got to be a record and almost certainly worth that much...

Yes I know the link is broken (unless it fixes itself in this edit) but you have to change the en-AU to whatever your country code is so it's a copy & paste job anyway

Will we be seeing this DLC come to other platforms (PC and so on)? Or is it a Microsoft exclusive.
2 Gig is pretty huge for this stuff. Mind you, we've been seeing patches at the 1 Gig range the last year or two.
It's definitely MS exclusive, PS3 people have been kicking up a stink about it. I'm not sure on the status of the PC version but it seems to make sense that if the xbox gets it then the PC should as well. Probably be later though since the PC version of the game was later

Gimme The Lost & Damned for PC!! You damn Microsoft!
Looking on wikipedia, it seems as if it's 360 exclusive which seems odd. Apparently the devs are using it as an experiment to see if this kind of large scale DLC is worth making, presumably if it sells well enough they'll put it out on PC as well.
There won't be a PS3 version, the devs made that clear. Although I have to say that I don't really care: GTA4 had a lot of good content, but with the engine released in such a sad state (on all three platforms, eventhough the nature of the problems differed from platform to platform) it wasn't really much fun to play (played about half way through, but lost interest then).
The console versions (apparently the XBox360 version even more than the already horrible PS3 version) suffers from mature frame rate drops (less than 20 fps on average and less than 5fps if a lot of physics are involved) and very irritating pop-up effects, where parts of the level are only loaded after you make a turn (turn too fast and you'll see the city end after the next building), Add the horrible driving experience (apparently they tried to build physically correct cars: guess what a car that handles like a kangaroo isn't much fun to drive) and you see that there's something wrong.
As long as these issues still exist, they can stick their DLC where the sun doesn't shine.
Great idea for DLC. Using the game disc you purchased last year as a sandbox, and creating an entirely new story to go with the same environment is a great way to make me pay for it. But I don't know if 1600 MS Points is worth it to me though.
GTAIV stank, I seriously cannot get over that stupid friend system and Roman always calling and talking about "FAT AMERICAN" well, I'll censor it, because it is an M rated game.
But, That was so goddamn annoying.
Plus maybe a little embarassing, I'd be playing the game at night, while my girlfriend is trying to sleep and all of a sudden she hears that.
It's like "god, no, I don't want to see digital breasts, I just want to shoot this guy."
They need to patch the game to get rid of that feature before I ever pick it up again. I may just switch alliances to Saints Row.
I expect R* are going to be keeping this Xbox only for a very long time, especially if M$ have anything to do with it. And knowing how anal R* are about DRM on the PC, they aren't going to care enough to want to put the DLC on the PC anyhow. Look at Ubisoft for example and how they are refusing to offer up the game changing, story completing DLC for POP which is coming out for both consoles but certainly not the PC.

I couldn't agree more.
Ubisoft's refusal to release the DLC ending of Prince of Persia for the PC was one of the worst dickmoves of the last years, in my opinion.
I mean: you don't want to release the game for PC at all? Fine for me. You want to release it 6 months later to milk the console market first? No big deal.
But you cannot release a game for the PC, a game, mind you, that didn't have a proper ending in the first place, and then refuse to give the DLC that could fix that exact shitty ending!
I've mentioned this before but I absolutely loved GTAIII. It was the first time the game was fully realized the way it should have been. But the two games following were more like expansion packs more or less. And GTA IV... while it further developed and polished the core GTA experience, just never really offered anything terribly mindblowing. It was still decent fun and all, but I just can't help but feel I've done it all before.
Perhaps an action MMO-esque GTA will renew my interest in the series. Although the crazy over-the-top cartoony GTA:Chinatown Wars looks like some good oldschool GTA fun.

Official Multiplayer was introduced.. XD
a day late a dollar short on that one, Rockstar.
What the series needs is more freedom and more customization, kind of like Saints Row II, but also perhaps like Driver (the cusomizability in the cars is fantastic). I'd like to be able to keep a car and buy upgrades for it, so when I do go on one of those crappy ass "dude, lets hang out" things, I can at least drive around in style, and drive everybody wild, cuz I'll have the only one there is around.
Personally I thought GTA4 was the best one so far, partly because of the friend system. It made it feel like Nico was a person rather than a gun with legs. There were plenty of times I didn't want to do the friend stuff and the easy solution was to turn the phone off after each mission.
I do think they need to encourage you to keep the car you have, they're a bit too disposable.

I also think GTA 4 is the best one so far. San Andreas had way too much Sims crap (tatoos, hairstyle, eating, gyms...). Also, Nico Bellic is the best character in series.
Don't get me wrong, I still think GTA IV is beautiful and technically impressive, it's just that it doesn't really feel all that revolutionary. Or perhaps I've just come to expect too much nowadays, but I just didn't feel that giddiness that I had the first time I was released into the open freedom in GTA III.
Also I forgot about GTA IV multiplayer for some reason. Oh the craziness I've experienced in Cops n' Robbers. But too bad that the multiplayer isn't as seamless as Burnout Paradise's implementation of online play. GTA IV multiplayer was fun but I didn't play it as much as I should have just because it took a few more loading screens and wait time to play than I cared to devote time for.
